I tried to blind set up a diy wifi mesh using Chatgpt o3, and spent days going round in circles trying work out what was fucked.
Eventually just gave up, and started from scratch doing the research myself.
Turns out the directions it was giving me were fucked, and the software it was telling me to use was incompatible with the routers I have.

Why is he always shilling his presets, when 90% of the time they make the pictures he's showing look worse?
The SOOC usually look OK, then he clicks through his various shit and turns them into phone photos.

I also watched his video about photographing some Bernie Sanders campaign, and maybe it was just me, but I thought most of his photos kind of sucked.
Like, they were all super blown out and really noisy, and then he made them all black and white to try and cover it up.
But the end effect was making them legitimately look worse than battlefield photos taking in WW1 and 2.

I always assumed, since he talks so much about photography, shooting raw etc., that he must be a real pro, but after seeing that, I started to realize he might just make Youtube videos because he's a bad photographer.

Yes he's crazy. He schizo rambles about magnets and pyramids. He thinks he's a genius in everything from physics to photography, but he's not. I think people were trying to bully him into becoming a "lolcow" but he's not interesting enough, doesn't fight back, doesn't do anything that egregious. this is the only one i watch regularly. the format is great and usually it's 30min to an hour per video which is just right for me. especially the office hours with reuben series is good for theory
other street guys i like are mike chudley and pushing film. both are a bit prone to clickbaity titles and video themes but they know how to shoot and have a good attitude. pushing film is very handsome and interviews photo people as well as does a lot of little entry-level info vids which i think are a bit better than average. i wish he put more content into his vids tho, perhaps go deeper. generally the non-interview videos are around 5 min or less, which for a street pov is gone in the blink of an eye. but the interviews are pretty good. probably my favorite channel for street pov is octavian carare. he doesn't post very often but he's maybe the best shooter i've seen do youtube povs and the videos are nicely edited. i really wish ulysses aoki's channel had taken off because i think he's pretty smart plus has some neat fits
going away from street, my fav is bryan birks. he talks a lot about process and approach, discusses photographers and other artists, has good background music not just generic lofi beats, substantial 10+ min videos
for gear channels, i haven't been watching gear videos this year but i enjoyed onemonthtwocameras the most. she has seemingly infinite resources to devote to outdated and niche cameras and takes a practical approach

Yep, I'll follow him. Man, I've been to Japan multiple times, but I really don't have the balls to do street photography like those people do. I do take such shots here and there, it would be a crime not to as Japan is a paradise for that, but still. I know I don't like being photographed (or rather, singled-out to be photographed), as such, I can't help putting myself in the shoes of the people I'd photograph, projecting my own "hey, fuck no!" thoughts on them (even though, much like pretty much anyone, I'd never refuse or make a tantrum about being shot).
If it's a large crowd where you don't single-out someone, or long-range, it's less of an issue obviously.

He simply goes to where they are, gets a press pass if one is needed, and takes photos
You can do the same if you can afford traveling or event fees.

Because he has shot so many pictures and has a lot done he is somebody, not nobody, and that's all you really need to get "access" to celebs/etc. They really don't look too deep into it.
