Most of the problems with Ken Rockwell isn't his photography, it's his editing. His photos are often a bit boring, formulaic "nice" photos that don't really evoke any emotion or tell any story (despite his FARTS or whatever he calls it). But as soon as he gets that shit in lightroom he absolutely nukes it with saturation, he never straightens anything, he never uses perspective correction and it looks like he never crops anything. You would have to assume that all he uses is sharpening and saturation. I understand that sometimes blown highlights can be acceptable, especially in challenging situations where you'd prioritize skin tones, but blowing highlights due to this much over saturation feels almost sacrilegious to me.

Yeah, there is no other review resource for the hundreds of excellent Nikkor lenses. He’s an egomaniacal lunatic in his copy and an absolute arsonist when it comes to his own photography, but his Aspergers is quite useful when picking out just the right 1970s lens.

If neuNikon gave half a fuck about their users they’d have all their lenses archived online themselves, with even better examples and data for review.
