If your life sucks, you're probably not literally looking at anything notable, partiularly in urban areas, and you're probably stuck in a dreadful routine that you know you need to change tomorrow. If you're not doing anything memorable then who cares either. Like, you don't even care about your own current reality more often than not, thtat is what you are literally looking at and documenting with your 3000k camera and lens etc.

I find this topic interesting as someone whose photos suck. Often it is a case of not having an interesting subject or knowing how to find one. I think a preoccupation with the ideal of a photographer who can find a good shot anywhere also hurts. That and the myth that you shouldn't make a good photo, just that you should take it. Ansel Adams for example was basically using analog photoshop on every shot, extensively. It's really easy now that we have computers, but no one wants to engage with that and instead just takes it out of their camera as is and shames photos that are edited or hdr or whatever. The modern hobbyist photographer usually hates almost all photos, especially those by successful photographers, and does not have a vision or the capacity to realize a vision.

No new sensory for your mind to consume for months in the real world will also make your photos suck.

A disposable camera vs a seven thousand dollar Matt Hasselblad camera is not entirely irrelevent but such a small leap in the journey once you've got the technology to simply document our (sometimes) beatufiul reality in a coherent fasion. We are gifted to witness this reality and therefore document rather than the other way around more often than not.

An entire slice of the photography demographic is sheer memeory preservation of the moment and with composition focus length blah a complete afterthought as long as it works. Oh wait, you have a life? AND you have a nice camera. Let me see those pictures! Then the way the photos turned out is ALL icing on the cake and really nothing more unless you're in a specific field like underwater photography blah.

If your life was interesting, even to you, you would be snapping photographs of it. There's no way around that. Look at how boomers look at their 17,924 MEGA pixel Samsung Quad camera G50000sii photos of their grandkids. It;s like theyre looking at god.
