What do you do in the shoot or enjoy dilemma?
>Be yourself
>Happen to be in front of a fantastic scenery or a significant occasion which will be gone within a few seconds.
>Two choices
>A: enjoy what is in front of you, the moment you're in
>B: bring your camera up take the picture

What do you do? do both at the same time? can you? i can't do it both really. maybe because my head is not sharp and hands are slow.

There is no option C: take the picture and enjoy it in your man cave. the taste is not the same.

This is a question about what one can do in a decisive moment to live best life.

The other day a hawk landed right in front of me at home. I waited a while, then went to go get my camera. When I came back it was gone. So for me, apparently, it's neither. I should have gone to get my camera immediately, but I was worried about scaring off the bird, so I hesitated. I ended up not enjoying the bird because I was thinking about my camera, and I ended up with no picture because I went to take it too late. That is to say, your choice doesn't matter as much as your making it. Do what you first think to do in the moment.

Taking photos is one of the ways I enjoy and be in the moment with what's around you
If you aren't good at handling your equipment in a time efficient manner, you need to practice more

With a SLR, you can not only enjoy the kino but enhance it. The camera becomes an extension of the self, like a telescope.

>He's the hero /p/ deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight.

I deal with this in motorsports. Most of the time I go in looking for a specific shot, like this one. I know the car or bike is on its run and that will take time, I'm already set up for the shot so I get it and purposely set the camera aside to watch its run, though it's still ready if something happens.

Don't forget to live in the moment, not everything has to be recorded.

Agreed. It's healthy to mix photographing the moment and enjoying the moment. Track motorsports is a bit of a cheat, since the many laps give you ample oppertunities to take a photo and also just enjoy the race. But the idea is the same.

Enjoy the environment. Take photos of the things you think will be worth keeping. If for some reason you think every single scene needs to be remembered and recorded, you want video which can be set up with an action camera hands-free.
I've never gone to an event or landmark and thought everything needs to be snapped.
