Leica cameras are just built like shit. How hard is it to make something that is literally simpler than an SLR last longer than an SLR?
>leica users
>on film: of course every camera needs a CLA every 100 rolls!
>on digital: oh no the sensor is failing… right after i had the buttons fixed and got the update that fixes the random crashes

>on film: what the fuck you put clay in your camera?
>on digital: i wish my d200 would break so i could upgrade

Now if only nikon would make a rangefinder style Z mount body. Life would be dream

Top fucking kek. Do I buy a car or a camera?
Cameras are supposed to last. It's not fucking rocket science. Yearly service... What a joke.

they don't have a fast 28mm prime, so what's the point?

They have a 28mm f2.8 that is very good and a 40mm f2. 8. There is also a good fast thypoch and voigtlander 28mm. The manual focus features on Nikon are also very very good. They are just about the only mirrorless option that I care about a rangefinder styled body from.

Yes, they are. Maintainance could even mean just a visual check, but nothing is ever going to be repaired this way

Real. Was a simple rangefinder adjustment it needed.

What's wrong with it? I know them pretty well. Oleg Khalyavin works on them too.

I've been blasting bessas for 8 years...my R2 has seen close to 400 rolls. No clue how wtf you break multiple.

I have noticed the same while browsing the classifieds.
>The camera has just come back from Leica HQ where it had its thingamabob fixed.
Same when watching youtubers who have to send it to get this and that fixed. Seems like the Panaleicas are more reliable though.
If you are gonna mess around with film you might as well get a Canon AE-1

Me too. I have no interest in Leica rangefinders.

The D200 is a "good enough" camera. I have and love my superior D2x.

The only true upgrade from it is the D3x, but I slightly prefer the way the D2x renders so I'm in no hurry to do so.

They add bulk to the camera and look ugly. They were worth the tradeoff when you had a mirror for slrs but there is no reason for them now that most cameras use an evf.

Leica is just a brand name now and is disposable, same as garbage fashion like Gucci.

People mistake a heavy camera for a reliable camera. Same thing with rooskie cams

I dunno, in my experience (zenits and zorkis) are unbelievably light compared to cameras from the same era.

thaths because of all the holes in the shutter curtains. my zorki4 shutter looks like swiss cheese

Depending on how many and how big I have successfully patched a Zorki-6 with a very small piece of Gorilla tape I had to cut it with a hobby knife but it's holding and the test roll was good.

I used acrylic paint. Worked well until the holes became too numerous. The shutter curtain got too stiff over time because of the acrylic and it's fucked now.
I use the cam as decoration now - it makes no financial sense to fix it
