Gear
I saw that message bout gear, that gear threads are not wanted, however I have nobody to ask so here's my question. I just bought Hoya HD MK2 protective filter for my canon RF 100-500 L because I am going to do photos in extreme conditions so I don't want my front lens to get dirty or scratch etc. What do you think about this filter is it worth it, or I should've bought Zeiss T* UV filter or other. Thanks in advance!

But this piece of extra glass can affect image quality, so I'm asking is there a better alternative, which would have no impact on quality.

I mean, if you're going to add an extra piece of glass, it might as well have been a UV filter. You're only cutting your light by about 1.5%.

I think it probably doesn't matter that much, but if it matters to you then it does.
Hope this helps.
