I know for me personally, felt like I was being "pulled" somewhere. I definitely had the sense I was going somewhere and for me it was absolutely horrifying. It's funny because in some ways I think it's merciful to not know you're fading away, but in some not so much. Life flashed before my eyes, thought about how little I did, thought about where I was and if anyone was going to find me, but the sense of being "pulled out" was there.

Took the afterlife a bit more serious after that, started looking at other religions and avoided Christianity like the plague. None helped, none calmed me, none healed me. Those other two experiences were just as bad. Then, had a friend that gave me some verses in the Bible that I meditated on. Really took them to heart and even studied them with him... had one final incident where I thought it was over. I expected to be terrified as I was fading away, but instead, the reality of the verses we studied hit me and in the room with the nurse frantically working on me when things were going south, I felt "somebody" else standing there (hard to explain) and suddenly it was all just comforting peace. Had that same "pulling", but I didn't mind at all where I was going. No sudden and frantic struggle to stay alive, no regrets, no flashing of my life, just genuine peace.

At least for me, I found that was worth literally everything. That preparing for that end point is just as important as living because in the end you're either left with peace or regret and fear. It's wild because before all that I was depressed constantly and never really thought I cared if I lived or dies. Really, I thought it would be better to die.

It's a very intensive process and when that energy flashes through your brain, it eventually disippates in the form of heat. Whatever powered your thoughts that minute, for those few seconds, for now - while you read this - while leave your head in the form of heat. It will rise up through heat transfer in to the environment around you and become something else.

The heat, for example, will increase the kinetic energy of the molecules around your head, whether your head is exposed to air or exposed to water. I won't make this too complicated, but that energy will travel forever, changing and recycling itself in to new things.

So, what was you yesterday is today part of something, or perhaps even someone, else. What was a plant, a peanut, a block of cheese, a cow, yesterday, is you today. Is your thoughts now. The rest of you is just meat, built from the carbon of whatever your lifelong diet happens to be. Most Americans are - and this is not a joke - majority corn-syrup derived. Your friends personality is gone, because that was a series of pathways carved out in to a hunk of meat via personal experience. Everything else that made up who your friend was is and will continue to roam the universe in one form or another, as it always has, since the beginning. Energy does not die. We're all connected. We are the universe.

It's wild because they say fear can't kill you, turns out that's a lie. After that I got into a serious crash. Basically, I was randomly having these sudden and dreadful moments of pure, unfiltered fear that would skyrocket my blood pressure to dangerous territories. Then on top of thar, it could happen randomly when driving too (not what caused the accident). Talking and listening to other NDE's, the experiences lined up verbatim.
