Iran is poorly run and poorly led. Islamic theocracies don't really have a broad base of support because of totalitarian laws. Iran also isn't well liked in the region, especially in neighboring countries.

Syria wasn't removed. Assad couldn't manage a country and had no loyalty from the military. His entire government was propped up by Russia and the moment the Russia's backed down the entire government toppled, with soldiers refusing to fight.

It's not that simple. Many people "support" Israel because they want to curb Islamic influence, especially in countries like Italy, France, UK, Russia, the US, China, and Serbia - where the threat of Islamic agitation is high. Of course China and Russia also try to present themselves as friendly to the Islamic world, and welcoming to Africans and Arabs, which is why they often contradict themselves all of the time. However, that's generally the picture. China and Russia also prop Iran up as a tool against the US and the Balkans. The goal being of course to extend Islamic control over the Balkans through jihadist formations from Palestine, Albania, and Bosnia.

Palestinian jihadists were present in the Balkans, helping to kill off Serbians for example. Iran also supported Bosnians and Albanians. You're trying to water down reality into something it simply ins't.

America has been in an awkward place since 1945 when the British Empire collapsed and a huge vaccuum emerged that the Soviets immedatiely began exploiting. America, at that time, decided to react by countering Soviet influence, which is what the Cold War was. I know it's hard to believe, but actions have consequences and among those consequences includes the fact that America essentially filled in the role of the former British Empire, although without the colonialist mentality or desire for actual occupational control.

On the other hand, Islamic countries have been militarizing since 1945 as well, as they enjoyed support from both sides of the conflict. Ironically, the Soviets originally fought against the rising tides of Islam until America started to do the same, so that's why Russia flipped and now backs Islamic theocracies, which is why you have that awkward situation now in the Balkans where Russian geopolitics aligns more with Bosnia and Albania, while American aligns more with Serbia - but because of recent history it's obviously muddled.

However, the entire Levant region has been a never-ending cycle of violence since Bibilical times. There's a lot of reasons for this, but for contemporary people it's enough to know that religious-ideologies like Judaism and Islamism aren't really compatible both with each other and with others. So that's why it's so complicated.

That doesn't make any sense whatsoever. The Islamic conquests, particularly under Mohammed, had nothing to do with Israel. North Africa is Muslim solely due to Muslim expansionism. They don't share a border, so Iran can't leverage it's population.
Iran is incapable to waging a war at a distance, because their army wasn't optimized for this.
They have rockets they can fire at Israel, but that can't lead to a decisive victory.
Similarly Israel is incapable of toppling Iran by firing some rockets at the right people and dropping bombs.

You can't win wars without boots on the ground, and those willing to do that can't, those that can, don't want to.
In conclusion, this war is a nothingburger unless nukes fly.

To make it very simplistic for you, Britain in the 20th century was over-extended and changing socially, and new technologies were also rapidly changing how people interacted with the world. After WW1 the UK was always going to change forever, particularly as we saw the rise in anti-British movements in their colonies (which were later supported by the Soviets during the Cold War). It's not really a fair comparison. America and Canada have largely good relations, especially on a personal level with one another. They also have no real negative history (some post-colonial fighting that didn't really amount to anything) and enjoy a very calm border. This is radically different than the USSR, which was an authoritarian military industrial complex running on a fictional economy that could only keep itself running through a large network of internal terrorism via the KGB (and earlier, NKVD and Cheka) and military occupation.

The US and Canadian border is peaceful and US and Canadian people have cordial relations. They even share many cultural elements, including sports (and share leagues with one another).
