>>507969026 (OP)>>507970193It doesn't even say the nation of Israel. Since you guys are completely oblivious about this entire theological discussions, let me explain in detail.
The original line
God speaking to Abraham
"I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you"
Now since Arabs also come from Abraham, there is a further elaboration
Abraham had two primary sons:
Isaac, through whom the covenant promises and blessings were specifically established (Genesis 17:19; Romans 9:7-8).
Ishmael, Abrahamโs son through Hagar, the ancestor of many Arab peoples (Genesis 16; 17:20).
The specific covenant promises about the land and being heirs of Godโs promises were given to Isaac and his descendants (Genesis 17:19-21).
But God also blessed Ishmael and promised that he would become a great nation (Genesis 17:20; 21:13).
Now all of this is prior to what happens with Christ. Yes, God promised an everlasting covenant with his descendants, but that was promised from God's side, the covenant could still be broken from the Jewish side, which it was, they rejected Jesus, and were broken off. Hence the lines:
Romans 11:17-21
"But they(the Jews) were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but tremble.
For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either."
Romans 11:28-29:
"As regards the gospel, they(Jews) are enemies for your sake. But as regards election, they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers"
Those who are now in covenant with God - are the Christians
Romans 11:17-18
"If some of the branches (ethnic Jews who rejected Christ) have been broken off, and you (Gentile believers), though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root.
Hope this was clear.
