I start a fresh chat on another account and ask the same questions and it gave contradictory answers to the other discussion. AI is not thinking it is just regurgitating crap and putting words together without any analysis or serious thought.

I then fed it the answers from the other chat session and it tried to pilpul its way out of providing contradictory answers to the same set of questions. Having chatgpt running on your browser is like having a Jew in your living room.

If you find what you're looking for too quickly, you'll make fewer searches and therefore see fewer ads. Half the reason chatjewpt is being used is because these search engines are now useful. That google reverse image search used to be really good, now it just brings up clothing ads.

It doesn't help that search engines have become so shitty themselves that you're tempted to just ask LLMs questions knowing you will get an instant answer and be done with it. Yes, because LLMs are fancy autocomplete. It's seen that book in its training, so it knows where to go once you start it off.
There's little guarantee that the LLM will actually be able to figure out what specific passage you are talking about unless the entirety of it is actually in its context, so it'll start by attempting to regurgitate the passage verbatim so it "remembers" what the topic is, and from there it might be able to shit out something coherent and relevant. If you don't give it enough to go off and it "recalls" wrong just for a token or two, and fails to reproduce the passage exactly verbatim, chances are its autocomplete will start going completely off the rails and it'll just start making shit up wholesale.
Keep in mind that once an LLM "says" something, it cannot go back and edit it, even if it "realizes" it just made up some bullshit (you wouldn't ever be able to tell because OpenAI never shows you logit information, but in the case of trying to reproduce some text verbatim, it would manifest as lots of different tokens having high weights rather than just the one correct token having an extremely high weight), so no matter what it's just going to act like whatever it said is correct and keep going.
