I have a 6 month old male puppy. Everyone always asks when I’m going to get his balls cut off. Even my vet asked if I wanted to schedule something after he’s 9 months old. Right now I’m leaning towards no. My parents loved me and didn’t allow (((doctors))) to cut the tip of my penis off. I don’t want to take the manhood away from my dog. I love him and won’t neuter him.

I neutered my dog much later in life, he was around 5 or 6. I have a female dog now who is not spayed and she is about 4 years old now. I think it's better to spay/neuter later in life. I think dogs, and probably most other mammals, have some sort of puberty that allows their body and minds to develop.

Most dog owners are retarded and irresponsible and get dogs without any intention of actually exercising it regularly, feeding it quality meat or socialising with other dogs and humans.
Neutering dogs is similar to when adults put an active kid on drugs because they're too incompetent and lazy to manage the kid's behaviour.

If you got yourself a puppy, hopefully you thought long and hard about why and were honest with yourself and whether you can give it a good quality of life. If you actually take care of the dog and ensure it has lots of time to run around and be a dog doing what dogs naturally do and treat it well, then you won't need to chop its balls off.

The main concern is overpopulation of dogs; that's why all rescues and veterinarians encourage neutering and spaying: to control overpopulation. Dog rescues are mostly full and still in the US about a thousand dogs are euthanized daily for being homeless and not adopted on time.
But I do sympathize with wanting to leave your boy intact. I am a total dog lover, so I can see both sides.

I'd get a female dog spayed (probably a little later than what they recommend) but I wouldn't get a male dog neutered.
Female dogs have some problem where if they reach a certain age and haven't had puppies their ovaries turn cancerous. Apparently it's common in the animal kingdom but I can't remember what it's called.

Cancer risk is much higher. My previous Labrador got testicle cancer at 3 years old. My current puppy will be spayed after she turns 2 or before her second heat. Drive and aggression has little to do with being intact. My intact lab got bullied all the time (but only when he was intact) whereas my early neutered lab was an alpha dog.

The dogs in my family which were also highly different in behaviour. As an example, our first dog asked to go outside to pee, the second peed everywhere and didnt care, and the third asked at specific times of day to relieve itself but still pissed the house.

The number one reason why it’s pushed is to control the animal population. Most people are not very responsible with their pets and dogs have a strong drive to breed. Most dog parks and doggy daycares also require pets to be spay/neutered. An intact dog has fewer opportunities to socialize with other dog for this reason. To a lesser extent there are also cancers associated with intact dogs but there’s really not much science on the subject to prove whether it’s worth it or not. The last reason is behavior. An intact dog is more likely to hump you or others and some say they are a bit more aggressive but that comes down to training more than anything.

Generally speaking you’re fine to neuter small dogs at 7-9 months and bigger dogs 9-12. It’s a good idea to wait a bit longer because the extra hormones will help the development of their bones which will be needed when they are older and especially necessary in bigger dogs.

My parents neutered my dog at a year old. He still has aggression issues with non neutered dogs. By the time he was 9 months to a year he would run off half a mile away to go hump a dog and wouldn't listen to any commands to stop. He'd often get into scrabbles with other un-nuetered dogs.

So it really depends on multiple factors such as how well/much time you can dedicate to training your dog, how often you come across other dogs on walks and such.

For a female dog wait until several months after their first heat to have them spayed, and for male dogs wait until they are 2-3 before neutering. If you do it any earlier than that their bones won't fully develop and they will experience joint problems as they grow old.

If your dog isn't red rocket, humping everything in sight constantly, showing aggression, looks like he's losing his mind when you take him out you can wait. They can and do run away never to be seen again if they get a whiff in the air of female in heat. That's the danger because he will matter how diligent you are.
