So Hydro One is threatening to cut off power to my parents home tomorrow. They're literally charging them 600 a month now.
>In the middle of SUMMER.
>WITH NO AIR CONDITIONER RUNNING
And of course they fell behind. They owe like 3 grand now, and even tho they have been making gradual payments, they're getting cut off. My dad also has a lewy body dementia is in need of 24/7 care. And I have to work. Especially if I'm giving them money to help them in this situation. And yes, they have applied for all sorts of help from the government, but only ever get denied, stonewalled, or told the funding for the program is already depleted for the year.
This is how our people are treated. This is what the leaders of our nation wanted. I have to broke to help my parents during a tough time, and it's still not enough. They're still getting cut off. Meanwhile only god knows how many Indians are suckling at the teats and draining all the time and money of Canadian bureaucracy to the point where actual people who need attention and support are neglected. Like what's going to happen to their food? The local church has gone above and beyond to help them with groceries. And now all that food is going to go bad and their help will have been for nothing. What am I supposed to do in this situation? I'm powerless to help them in so many ways and I'm starting to lose hope that anything can even be done.
And I can't help but think after all the stress and sadness, in the back of mind, that this is what my country wants. This is how my country wants me to live. This how my country repays my parents for being good citizens paying their taxes in to the system for their entire life. Canada is not a country. It's a fucking trap.
