The demoralization is the "don't notice the acceleration" rhetoric.
They had this site swamped with "AI will never make convincing video" shills for months last year, and they literally just released those videos creation programs that mimic gymnasts and other technically difficult tasks like last week.

Which means they've had it for months.
So, there is a concerted effort to try and keep people from panicking, by creating the illusion that there is still a consensus of people who believe "tech" and "AI" is over hyped, when I reality basically no one believes that.

But it allows people who would panic and avenue to lie to themselves while they wait to warm up to the idea a little bit more.
