You’ll get some looting hordes but given how many chokepoints there are in and out of urban areas it is doubtful they’ll be as effective as you think. Blow up a handful of bridges/overpassed in any given urban area and you’ll keep most of them boxed in.

If enough non-military people participated, like 2% of the population or more, then big cities would get completely fucked by the infrastructure becoming almost completely broken. Likely regular people couldn't easily do things like driving from one city to another. Massive food/power/water outages. What actual fighting that would happen would somewhat depend upon how much of the military would defect. If very few, then the fighting would be almost entirely insurgency and assassinations. If most white men in the military actually defected, the current U.S. regime would get buck-broken and be over within a few months.

I come from a Salvadoran family who emigrated (legally lol) to the USA following the civil war in their home country. I can tell you exactly how a civil war would play out.

Normies would be afraid of going outside, opting instead to bury themselves in their work and home routine.
The men of violence would oppress the herds of sheep, demanding and extorting them into compliance with their various nefarious activities.
College campuses would be relegated to recruitment grounds to the fight the war.
Trust within society would instantly collapse, neighbors and friends of years would become strangers virtually overnight.
Fear of self-expression means that freedom of speech would come under attack.
And because the USA is already full of misanthropic people, the violence would escalate exponentially.

People often forget, or are just entirely ignorant of their history, but the spanish gangs that are now some of the most powerful organizations in the world, started in the streets of Los Angeles. It wasn't until the Salvadoran refugees started seeking asylum and forced into cohabitation with the mexicans, that conflict first arose and subsequently, the gangs.

Mind you, this plague would mostly affect major urban centres. Rural America may have dissidents, but I suspect they would soon be uprooted and put to grass early on.

tl;dr the people who like to use the phrase 'civil war' lightly, are not ready for civil war. Thats why they hide behind their keyboard, stoking the flames of civil disruption and goading some retard a thousand miles away to do their dirty work for them.

It won't look like anything, it's simply not happening.

The powers that be have a new system that has been in the development for decades now, ready to be rolled out in the coming years. It will operate in parallel starting sometime this year and by the next decade it will be fully operational as the Agenda 2030 goals are slowly being implemented.

It makes the most sense if you objectively war game it. Most of the population is concentrated into a few urban areas. They are entirely dependent on a constant supply of food being shipped in every day to feed all of those people. They rely on far power stations to send power to substations for distribution. Water has to be purified or shipped in as well. There are only so many roads that can handle mass transit out of any given urban area. Traffic in the entire city of Atlanta was horrific (more than it already is) because some fucking crackhead lit a fire under an interstate overpass and destroyed it. That was just one. Now imagine two or three and substation attack.

Modern wars are rarely fought with clear battle lines between the countries fighting them. It's all proxy war bullshit.
The American civil war that we are in right now is no different.
And much like the last civil war it is a group of elites fighting another group of elites and rallying support from the peasants to do so on their behalf.
