We have proponents mainly in the conservative environment, where it is basically said that women should own guns, and this has in a way become a kind of "identity symbol" for right-wing women. The right has several arguments, but one of the main ones is how this is supposedly useful for them to defend themselves in the absence of men.

I meant, how would this be different in practice with women in military activities? Like police officers and in war? I mean, I'm open to arguments, but apart from some videos on the Internet of women killing criminals with their weapons, unfortunately, women's military capacity is reduced in some aspects, and it's not just carrying weapons that would change that.

It's an argument I've thought about, although I've never elaborated on it. Do women know how to use guns? Having a gun is different from knowing how to use it, not just emotionally, but in handling it. And this applies to men. Although women have their limitations

The reality is that women are smaller, weaker than men are physically unable to defend themselves. Meaning their human rights are being infringed by restrictive weapon laws.

Another question for proponents of gun ownership for women:
From a traditional perspective, how could this possibly square with the fact that men are the primary defenders of women? Couldn't women use the argument that the gun gave them the self-sufficiency to defend themselves? Wouldn't that make them "masculine"?

I think both left and right arguments are retarded.

Women should not have guns for the simple reason - that women have an overinflated sense of self-preservation, and they constantly feel like they're stalked or "aggressed" against. Handing a weapon to a gender that literally acts like a schizophrenic 24/7 is never a good idea.

And this is actually one of the things cops told us during gun courses in my country: women disproportionately too often reach for their guns, just because some dude was walking in the same direction as they did. Now imagine the shit such behaviour can cause in an actual dangerous situation like a robbery or assault in a public/group setting.

Basically, the argument is that they are used for defense, but yes, generally what defense would imply is not explained, other than home invasion scenarios, but the problem, in my opinion, is that in risky situations, the female mind does not function as clearly as possible. And maybe a gun would not help, just get in the way? A right-wing guy showed a study that women with guns feel trapped and influence their worldview, wanting to influence the course of the nation, but honestly, I did not read the entire study, just the abstract.
