>>509498732I don't think it's a psyop or raid. Since the start this website has been contrarian to the mainstream narrative, even when it was conservative. 4chan, while mostly apolitical prior to 2010, was primarily 'leftist' and if you don't believe me look up Stephen Colbert on Encyclopedia Dramatica, he used to be /ourguy/ but once mainstream media started becoming progressive after 2014 or so this website shifted very far to conservative talking points. So now that the pendulum is swinging in the other direction and nu-media is openly promoting anti DEI and LGBT talking points this website naturally tries to swing in the other direction. There's two things to take from this primarily:
1) Legacy media is completely dead and people can't even pretend it's mainstream anymore, hence why the reaction is towards people like Charlie Kirk and Twitter now.
2) Contrarianism isn't necessarily pessimistic, nor was 4chan in its early stages, it was purely ironic back then. After stormfront took over this website memes took an almost decidedly pessimistic form and that same spirit of irony became entwined with demoralization. Now the only way to be free from the narrative is to cynically complain about everything and purity spiral. It's why Spencer was phased out after Trump was elected, he had no mechanism in place to rally his viewers other than pessimism, they literally couldn't align with anything other than cynicism.
