I tip 10% rounded up to the nearest dollar for good service, rounded down for average service, and 0% for bad service. I am working my way down. The other day I tipped 5% for average service and got a rush of excitement. I don’t give a rip about what the waitresses think, I would tip 0 of it were just me, but I need to keep up appearances in my family/social group. I have to move the Overton window of tipping slowly otherwise they’ll just write me off as a nut who doesn’t tip. As is, I am an anchor pulling the entire group, (12 adults plus kids), down. Everyone WAS averaging 18%. Now they average 12%. Soon we will pass the 10% barrier and be in free fall to 0%.

For dining in a restaurant, I tip a maximum of 15% for stellar service from a White server. If the server is an American negro or spic, they get a maximum of 10% for superior service. For take-out specialty orders, I give a maximum of 10%. Pick-up fast food gets nothing. Coffee/beverages gets nothing. I never have food delivered for obvious reasons.

I make the tipping policy, NOT the server or business.
