I have had lucid dreams before, but it's random, and I can't seem to control when it happens. Most time my dreams are highly entertaining and I like to sit back and watch. In hindsight, it feels like some incompetent demon was trying to attack me. But it was really ineffective. I had this reoccurring dream, thought it was usually a bit different each time, but had the same ingredients. I'd be in a safe environment, then suddenly, no matter where I was, Dinosaurs would turn up, start rampaging and killing and eating everyone, the dream would turn into a horror film and I would always end up being chased, cornered and hunted by a fucking angry raging T-Rex who would stalk the fuck out of me, I'd hide in houses and caves and it would stake out entrances and shit.

This happened to me for years. But the thing is, I am a big Jurassic Park fan and I loved it. Was a free movie every night. Then I mentioned them once to my family about how fun these dreams are and they instantly stopped. I almost regret even speaking allowed about it now. I am sure some demon thought he was torturing me every single night lol only to find out he was entertaining me. I miss them, fuck I'd love to have another chased by a T-Rex dream. Best ones are when you get stuck in waste high water or when there is sticky substance on the ground too making you run slower and then you really had to think fast on how to survive. I died in the dreams a few times lol before discovering I could pause reality in my dreams to unfuck myself from these situations and get away from the T-Rex.

I have a lot of experience with demons in dreams. I've gotten to a point where I'll recognize them mid-dream or just see them immediately. It's not like I'm demon-infested, but I believe that they're everywhere looking for people with weaknesses and vices to exploit. There are many different types with different levels of strength and sophistication.

Interestingly, when after I began to recognize them automatically, I started encountering ones that were more invisible by nature or deeply hidden within the dream. Most recently, the one or ones I've been encountering have resorted to simply distracting me instead of trying to upset or terrify me. I think they're doing this because they'll go after my wife while I'm distracted. I've woken her up before after seeing a dream demon attacking her, and then finding out that she had been in the middle of a nightmare.

The best method I found when I was into lucid dreaming was to do regular "dream checks" during the day so it became a habit. Whenever you remember to do so, just ask yourself "am I dreaming" then check you surroundings, check your body. Eventually, you'll start doing the same in dreams.

Also, I found that being able to sleep in in a dark environment helps. We experience dreams more frequently and intensely in the last periods of sleep. If you wake up with the sun, it kind of pulls you out of those dreams.
