Who would back him? Remember Trump's Iran strikes? Vance was standing with Rubio and Hegseth and none of them looked happy. I think if Vance thought he had a shot he could get Hegseth and Rubio on board. Would Defense and State on his side be enough to topple Trump? Or would he need more support?
