>An ekranoplan, also known as a ground-effect vehicle (GEV), is a unique type of transport that combines features of both aircraft and ships. It flies just above the surface of the water, using a phenomenon called "ground effect" to generate lift and stay airborne.

Of course China is evil and for a variety of reasons. I will list a few:

1. They have lifted 850 million Chinese out of poverty. That is very evil. Only the west should not be poor.

2. They are building infratsructure - roads, railways, seaports, airports, hospitals, stadia, etc around the globe so called debt traps. as others build death traps (military bases). That is evil, it is a debt trap. The world should wait for EUs GG and US' B3W.

3. They made advances in science and technology like in space, telecom, trains, medicine, agriculture, etc. That is evil. They stole everything from the west. Chinese have stolen from the west even what the west does not have e.g. 5G, 600kph HSR, etc. Such advances are a preserve for the west.

4. They have grown their economy to the 2nd in the world and are firmly on the way to becoming the the first. That is evil. First postion is a preserve for the hegemony. How could they overtake those who humiliated them for 100 years, killed hundreds of millions with opium, made them sign devilish treaties?

5. They have refused to play 2nd fiddle to the hegemony. That evil needs no explanation.

6. They have not gone to war in very many years despite all manner of provocation. How can they be so obstinate? They must yield to provocation of war so that the hegemony and puppets have an excuse to sanction and bomb China.

7. They have strengthened their military and are not easily intimidable. That is evil, not to feel intimidated by the 400 military bases, a good number encircling them.

8. They have contained the terrorists in Xinjiang a lot better than the hegemony et al did across the border in Afghanistan and scampered out after 20 years. How could they outperform puppetmaster + puppets? No. No. There must be gross human rights abuses.

stopping a light bigrade from landing is impossible, we dont care about how many of these they have. stopping china from landing is impossible, we arent even going to try. the only thing that will actually matter is how many divisions they can get ashore and for that they are going to need very large ships not planes or helicopters or fishing trawlers. our strategy is to let them land and run them out of supplies by attacking logistics, so let them build these all they like it wont matter at all.

Ekranoplans kick ass. But the question remains: Why?

No one, and I mean no one, has ever figured out a good use for these things. MAYBE beach storming operations. AA missiles wouldn't work on them because they're flying 30 feet above the water. Anti Ship missiles might not work because they're travelling hundreds of miles an hour. But is it a one way trip? Or do they push up to a beach, unload, back out, turn around, and fly away?

Oddly enough automation might make them useful. The issue has always been one of vulnerability, they are big and thus though fast they are hard to hide. If you had a rocket powered one carrying a fuckton of smaller drones which didn't have endurance to reach where ever you wanted to deploy them but for some reason dropping them from a cargo plane just wasn't an option this could work. And if it gets blown up, fuck it expendable asset. Still outside of some mass assault I can't see the utility, so likely to forever remain a curiosity.

Also this entire plan is retarded the US has 50 SSNs which are superior to China's best 3, out of 6 total could be considered vaguely modern. Since diesels are essentially useless outside of coast defense and ambush this entire endeavor is doomed to fail. They are in fact the numerically inferior force in terms of actual useful assets. I can't help but think this entire thing is for posturing, and the various systems and platforms they are developing have utility outside of a hypothetical "Operation Fuck Formosa". These can be used to bolster coastal defense and area denial which is what the PLAN is set up for.

In all likelihood the one built by China is just a test craft exploring the concept of the ground effect.
This kind of thing is basically a stepping-stone to developing hovercraft (which use the same principle).
Hovercraft are basically the bread and butter for amphibious assault vehicles, but the fact that China had to go all the way back to the stage we were at in like 1920 to try and to work their way back up to a workable amphibious assault craft just speaks to how far behind they are when they can't just copy someone else's homework.

Well it solves the high wave/rough sea problem. Just a semantics question, if its basically a full blown airplane that flies in ground effect to increase efficiency, does it still count as a WIG plane? It is cool that it can cruise with that type of payload on a single turboprop though.

why not ask if it's even a plane if it can't clear a decent mountain if you're going that route? is a jeep not an off road vehicle because it can go on the road? how is it not a WIG plane if it is designed to use the effect? would liberty lift's 3000 feet ceiling make it a plane?

Because Americans are petty little kikes. Everything about them is fake and China is leaping forward while they are trying to become rich from TikTok.
The worst thing is that most of them psyoped into believing the shit they say. China has its own space station, their electric cars apparently have some untold suspension that eats up all the bumps and so on (they produce everything) yet somehow Mutts who have no industry and can't walk outside at night because they'll get killed either by a nigger or a pig, think they are (((leaders of the free world))) LMAO

Less drag than planes, faster than boats. These theoretically have their uses, but they only work on level surfaces and don't like rough weather.
The most appealing thing with ekranoplans is that you can make absolutely massive ones while still maintaining good fuel efficiency and speed when compared to both aircraft and boats.
Anonymous (ID: UizdBmTV) United States No.510068629 [Report]

It's a sick airplane that uses ground effect to boost it's payload capacity to crazy levels. The Russians made a few as a meme to deter nato from being nato, the idea being that an ekranoplane could carry and outrun naval payloads like missiles and torpedos while moving orders of magnitude faster than a ship.
>>510034597
Yea the issue was that pilots got tried real fast because cruising at 30 feet altitude is stressful and one little fuckup is a big deal because you cartwheel or shred the aircraft if a rouge wave licks your wing too hard. Nowadays we have computers which are perfect for controlling for this sort of computation that takes lots of nearly superhuman focus and patience from a human. Naturally China with all their drone tech is gonna do this. And even if I am skeptical china writes or even understands the principles of controls engineering that allow computers to do these amazing tasks, the hardware is good enough they don't need to understand shit. As is publicly available software

Heaven knows the west never will, it would only cost some swimming lessons for test pilot niggers and hiring a few white engineers like myself. But nooo... it is more natural for chinamen to scoop up this low hanging fruit of innovation.

>t. Aerospace engineer

>why didn't you make one anon?
I'm autistic, have only the capital of an individual and you niggers hate me. Even if I had a bunch of friends/coworkers who could help me build one I would stab the VC bros to death and close up shop as soon as I was asked to comply with cmmc regs.

The USA is being set up to lose a war with china and unless they start paying men in literal nubile brides and Canadian homesteads nothing will change.

Kinda is,

It's a sort of spoiler weapon, odd and maybe not efficient, but strap 1 ASM to it and it changes a million calculations for western navies. Because now there is a destroyer level payload with an aircraft's range, traveling at 250 knots.

>>510037187
To be viable, this thing wouldn't even need to carry more than 3-4 aircraft and wouldn't even need to have landing capabilities. The idea that one odd flight of aircraft could come from an unexpected angle at an unexpected time is enough of a deterrent to make any modern navy double check where they send their multi billion dollar naval investments.

Is china going to use them properly? 99% chance no. But that 1% chance is enough to scare the niggers and jews and women running the west.

That's the entire point.
