The US defeated the taliban, who packed up and fled to pakistan. The US then tried to introduce to muslims things like running water, agriculture, paved roads, not fucking your camel, etc. The US then realized muslims are incapable of civilization and left. The Taliban then trickled back into the country and since that point have been screaming for the UN to help feed the population as the Taliban have so far failed in every metric of government.
