Once that happens, all that's left is the death spiral of population decline and urban decay that has produced some of the most famous ruins today.

The problem is women not getting married. Being single drastically lowers birth rates. Why do women not get married?

- Spending too long in school.
- Making too much money and then expecting to marry only the wealthiest men.
- Making enough money to be self-sufficient and not NEED a husband to survive.

Take away women's rights, take away their economic self-sufficiency, and they will have no choice but to find a husband and get married which will naturally lead to more children. TFR for a given marital status can fluctuate but is overall pretty fucking steady. What's actually changing is that people are getting married later or not at all. THAT is what you need to correct. the birth rate is simply due to women getting educated and also being in the workforce, there is a correlation between female non participation in education and the workforce and birth rate. Even iran a literal islamic state has a low birth rate because they let their women work and get educated. The more time a woman spends in education the less kids she will have, a woman with a masters degree is essentially barren in statistical terms if you look at birth rates.

If you look at urbanization rate and correlate it with birth rates it will be clear. We live in rat utopia.
Looking at any developed country you will see that in the last 20 years or so about 20% more people live in urban areas.
And it correlates with migration. Usually the migration was from rural areas to citites. But when your own country do not have breeding rural areas you get migrants from other countries' rural areas. Which right now is africa and asia.
