been out of work for just over 2 years. Have applied to hundreds of jobs. Have gotten less than 5 call backs. The call backs I have gotten are MLM or commission only sales. Oh and 2 of them were scams. couldn't find any information on the company. They tried to sign me up with hardly any interviews. Didn't ask me to take a drug test or anything. It's rough out there. I have a bachelors. Most the job posts on indeed/monster are fake jobs. If you go to the company's site they aren't even real. I've registered with a staffing agency and followed up multiple times and they haven't gotten me one offer. I live in an rv park to keep costs down. Luckily I saved significantly when I was working so I still have like 100k in the bank. I only spend like 1k a month. Literally no one is hiring white collar jobs anymore. The economy is in the shitter, just no one wants to admit it. Housing and the auto industry are about to get HAMMERED. Tech industry is doing massive layoffs. Its about to get bad for a lot of people, but no one is acknowledging it yet. We've been in an expansionary cycle for like 15 years. We're way overdue for a bubble pop.

It's insanely hard out there these days, have had inconsistent employment, just now am getting back on my feet, went back to school, became a nurse, even then hours aren't guaranteed, hard out there.

It's true, I went into one of the nicer chain gas stations off the street for an assistant management position, it was just running the night shift alone, and made 52k, it's shit, but it pays way better than other shit jobs, the part time clerks make a lot less but they also work a bit less, my schedule was 45 hours each week, but they had like 5 managers per store to keep 1 or 2 there for the entire 24 hours they're always open and those different levels of manager scaled up exponentially, then they have a crap ton of corporate positions for their continuous expansion into other territories, everyone is happy to dump ass tons on convenience store junk, including myself, I'll go in and just grab a handful of things I want and it ends up being $20, I'm in and out in a minute or 2 and 10 minutes later I think to myself I can't believe I blew $20 on this shit

If you aren't going to be top of your class don't major in Engineering. Get a humanities degree from a state school that is the cheapest you can possibly attend. This can be accomplished without, or with less than $20k worth of debt. Just major in something like english lit or history.
