But yes you're right and I'm not sure why the other retard is pretending "Iranic" is an ethnicity rather than a set of related ethnicities. There's more genetic variation in Iran than there is in the entirety of Europe. Being Persianized =/= being ethnically Persian.
Iranian is also a concept that goes back at least to the Sassanid empire and arguably to the Aryans who entered Iran themselves and assigned the groups there Aryan (Iranian) identity, so there shouldn't be a need for a non-Persian Iranian to identify as Persian either as there is no special claim associated with it
