In February of 1917, the situation in Russia was much, much less dire than in, say, November of 1941. People forget that it wasn't the Tsar the Bolsheviks overthrew, but rather Kerensky, and that the situation sharply deteriorated in 1917 *only after the Tsar was overthrown.*

ROMANIA. here's a QRD on The collapse of global liberalism by Philip Pilkington.

Pilkington argues that the vision of a globalized, frictionless world driven by a tech-based service economy and governed by a rules-based liberal order was fundamentally flawed.
He suggests that this vision has led to the creation of financialized economies and societies that are struggling to sustain themselves, both demographically and in terms of energy needs.

Pilkington contends that the United States and the United Kingdom, as key proponents of this liberal order, are now facing significant challenges in competing with countries like China, which operate under different political and economic paradigms. He posits that the emerging global order prioritizes industrial capacity, realpolitik, and military strength over the liberal ideals that have dominated Western politics.

The book calls for a reevaluation of Western strategies, advocating for a shift towards a more pragmatic and realistic approach that Pilkington terms "post-liberalism." This approach would involve abandoning the idealistic aspects of liberalism in favor of policies that emphasize industrial strength and geopolitical realism.

He also delves into the historical aspects of Liberalism.

>I received a report from Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyiyyyi. Our forces continue to eliminate Russian sabotage groups in the Pokrovsk and other directions. Russia’s tactics remain the same — they are attempting to seize new positions using small groups. The Ukraine's units are employing all necessary means to detect and neutralize such enemy activity.

>We also discussed with the Commander-in-Chief the situation in the border areas of the Sumy region. I thank all involved units for fully carrying out their assigned tasks. I want to especially commend the 25th Separate Airborne Sicheslav Brigade for their actions specifically in the Pokrovsk sector, and the 225th Separate Assault Regiment and the 80th Separate Air Assault Galician Brigade for their defense of the Sumy region. Thank you, soldiers!

>The Commander-in-Chief also reported on our long-range strikes, particularly the frequency and effectiveness of deep strikes. Russian logistics must suffer significantly in response to Russia prolonging the SMO. In addition, the Commander-in-Chief, together with the Ukraine’s Minister of Defense and the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, is currently reviewing all requests for additional funding for the production and supply of drones. This includes both drones for the frontline and those needed to defend our cities and communities from Russian attack drones. The relevant additional contracts will be signed next week.

We live in the age of firepower and have since the turn of the 20th century. The rules of the game are still basically the same - the fundamental condition of land warfare (specifically, continental warfare) is the enormous lethality of modern weapons. Even ordinary machine guns and quick-firing artillery are very deadly. With that said, it's still possible to survive and operate in the face of this terrible power - concealment, digging in, dispersion, etc. go a very, very long way. As a result, you may expect serious wars on land between major powers to remain long and drawn-out affairs.

There's plenty of SPGs already in service that fully mechanize loading. I guess this makes things safer for the crew. What I'm really interested in is the ordnance itself, and the navigation and sights and fire control and so on.

>>510903750
Yes, more or less. With that said, there's no clear dividing line between the two. See "Nonstate Warfare" by Stephen Biddle, 2021.

This is because although guerrillas stereotypically stay as concealed as possible and so on, it's necessary for state armies to do many of the same things to avoid getting wiped out anyway.

Quite often - this has turned out to be the case for several tube and rocket artillery systems developed in multiple countries - it turns out to be faster to just have men reload the vehicle (I mean refilling the internal ammunition storage of an artillery vehicle from an e.g. ammunition carrier, not loading projectiles and charges into the breech) as opposed to using whatever mechanized arrangements were devised for the purpose.

That's a different matter. Continental warfare just means war between two states on land, with substantial land forces involved. It might happen between relatively small countries or rather large ones. The term doesn't imply that the war involves a whole geographic continent.

Thanks.
>Pilkington argues that the vision of a globalized, frictionless world driven by a tech-based service economy and governed by a rules-based liberal order was fundamentally flawed.
Yes but does he understand what the fundamental flaw is?
> He suggests that this vision has led to the creation of financialized economies and societies that are struggling to sustain themselves, both demographically and in terms of energy needs.
Sounds like he's yet another person who is noticing the symptoms and the effects but doesn't quite catch or grasp the actual cause.
>Pilkington contends that the United States and the United Kingdom, as key proponents of this liberal order, are now facing significant challenges in competing with countries like China, which operate under different political and economic paradigms.
No, China is operating under the same model, except with very heavy control and government and state interreference in the economy and in its steering also in a different part of the live cycle of the same model the rest of the world is operating on.
>He posits that the emerging global order prioritizes industrial capacity,
The need for industrial capacity never went away. You cannot have modern civilisation or technological advancement without an industrial base. It's just that the liberal west gutted and destroyed its industrial base in lieu of imports because liberalism is mental illness and how cargocultism manifests in high IQ races.
>realpolitik, and military strength over the liberal ideals that have dominated Western politics.
Won't happen under the current system (money, banks are legal, economy operates for financial profit). They'll choose collapse over this. Which is why the collapse has to and will come first. People are fucking married to their sacred cow of money, banking (legalised fraud) and capitalism (for-financial-profit operated society/economy).

Plenty of SPGs do; I think the PzH 2000 is still at least partly manually loaded, for example, although they've got a power rammer and other mechanical assistance; I recall seeing footage of the hohol turret of a PzH 2000 working once; I don't recall how many loaders they were, but if memory serves, they had only to retrieve projectiles and charges from a conveyor and then place them on a spanning tray; there was, naturally, a power rammer, but that's de rigueur in the confines of an SPG's fighting compartment.

Impossible without relinquishing money, banks and capitalism (for-financial-profit operated economy). Which is why it's going to be quite a spectacle to behold. Because almost immovable object (money banks and capitalism) will soon be met by the truly unstoppable force (people's instinct for personal survival). Yes, it will have to come down to personal individual survival for people to give up their oh so most holy of sacred jews cows: money, banks and capitalism. They won't do it for their children. They won't do it for their nephews. They won't do it for their spouses. They will only do it for themselves.
And the best part is the jews will try and hijack people's personal survival instinct to redirect it towards an even worse form of capitalism, the end stage wherein jews hope they will finally achieve their goal of White genocide. Will the masses fall for it? Or will they finally let go of their jewish mindspell induced delusions?
It's going to be quite the show finding out.

You're talking about expeditionary warfare/power projection, esp. from the sea to the land, perhaps with amphibious operations involved and so on. That's a completely different matter. It may well be the case that it's no longer feasible, but the "no longer" might be a misnomer; perhaps there's no real examples of it being successful against a major continental power on its own. I reiterate that this has nothing to do with the definition of continental warfare as used here, though.

Anyway, back to artillery - what I'm really interested in isn't the introduction of some new SPG; that isn't anything fundamentally new, even if the SPG is a good design mechanically and has useful and innovative new features. I wonder if there's any prospects for more fundamental developments.

By the way, the practice of gunnery as we know it was very heavily influenced by German WWI developments - ever hear of Georg Bruchmüller? He very heavily influenced subsequent American artillery practice. See "Steel Wind" by David Zabecki. Thanks to the system Bruchmüller implemented, it became possible to, among other things, reliably predict the fall of shot even at large distances and on targets which were only on a map.

Modern navies carry very little in terms of artillery, the whole US campaign against Houthis was a carrier with missiles and planes despite most targets being within artillery range.

Can you at least tell me *how* (there are ways, of course, and they're useful) you use satellites for the task? It's not as trivial a question as you might imagine. Perhaps you might also tell me about some typical orbital parameters for a spacecraft performing such a mission.

Once again, do you know anything about orbital mechanics? The spacecraft in question are all in low-Earth orbits, at altitudes of perhaps 500 km or so; this implies an orbital period of about 90 to 100 minutes. At a location that's directly under the ground track, they'll be above the horizon for perhaps 10 minutes or so, but that's an upper bound.

The orbits of earth observation satellites are quite inclined - they're often polar or sun-synchronous - so you get global coverage. The orbital plane is fixed in inertial space; the planet rotates beneath it. As a result, a given location is close enough to the orbital plane only twice a day. This is without getting into things like the width of the "swath," the fact that many EO satellites can work only in daylight, etc. The Russians and even the Chinese don't have anything like the number of satellites of any type to get continuous coverage - and if you want to, say, target missiles, you need frequent updates. Ships at sea are highly mobile, after all.

>Yaogan
A lot of the Yaogan satellites indeed require daylight to function; they're still optical, even if the sensors are sensitive to things outside the normal visible spectrum.

>SAR
There's radar-imaging ones, sure - how many? They can be shot down. How wide a swath can they image? You can also predict exactly when and where they'll pass overhead.

Artillery is the easiest thing to automate because they do indirect fire support from relatively very far away, so they don't have to dodge bullets and do precision quick strikes to kill the enemy.
Good for china, they are already trying to play supreme commander when everybody else is stuck in trenches.

its good to see russians finally go for their logistics, destroying locomotives is crippeling for the piggers, since they are using a different rail way gouge (soviet one) which can't be replaced by western analougs on the fly.

Let be honest here, you have no idea about these satellites, you're better off calling me ignorant than you are pretending to know about what you do not know.

34 known operation SAR satellites on the Yaogan network.

Thank you for admitting you were just assuming about things you do not know and talking as if you knew.

And no, despite this being common for Americans, even specialists, the Yaogan satellites do not perform similar to NOSS, in part because unlike NOSS most satellites are not from half a century ago.

We won't join BRICS. We have to remain neutral to keep our status as a safe port for business.
We can still trade with whomever we want and we will start a wave of infrastructure projects dedicated to just that. Now that the bullshit from trumo seething about china owning the ports was opened, it's clear we need to not only take control of the ports but to make new ports around the country.

We may end up using BRICS coins in some future for all the trade IF they (BRICS) play their cards right. Current government and the country in general is showing to be open to the idea with trading and even perhaps joining mercosur, brazil being the most important member. So we will see how things go and if BRICS play right, we may actually use their shekels for trade and crossing the canal. The burger shekel dollar is basically dead anyways.
I personally would rather have a national currency based in gold and charge for the crossing of the canal in gold instead of fiat but i can see how problematic that could be
