Why is promiscuity seen as such a bad thing, aside from the whole “muh feelings” argument?
If you don’t want to date someone with a high body count, that’s your choice. No one’s forcing you. But judging others harshly for making different choices doesn’t make much sense. And if you’re going to criticise it, explain why with something deeper than “it’s not virtuous” or “it’s not honourable.” Those arguments don’t really mean anything unless you break them down.
There’s constant backlash against women for being promiscuous, but barely anyone ever talks about the men who enable it. Who do people think they’re sleeping with? The behaviour goes both ways. It’s not possible for women to be promiscuous without men actively taking part in it.
If the real goal is to encourage monogamy and promote decency, then it has to apply to both men and women. You can’t expect standards and discipline from one side while ignoring the other.
