I thought Ukraine ran out of fighting aged men last year?

Because the russian army destroyed itself as an effective fighting force in previous 2 years when it lost 1 million men and thousands of vehicles. Now its just hastily trained recruits on foot thrown at heavy fortifications and minefields with little if any support.

Both sides are lying and propagandizing. The war will continue for another decade before one side collapses or more likely will wind down into a cold war with occaisional skirmishes, potentially with a formal ceasefire. This is just the Iran-Iraq war but even more low intensity.

Russia is advancing, albeit too slowly. But the losses are significant and i doubt they will be able to keep up at this intensity for long. I think we'll eventually see Russia try lower its military spending by changing into a defensive position, perhaps after taking the last major cities left like Kramatorsk and Sloviansk.
