This is kind of like how I was raised. I was a fuckup for my entire 20s basically because of it. My sister and I will sometimes talk about how we were thrust into the world with zero adult skills, then left to ourselves with little or no help.
My parents are wonderful people, but they just thought a more 'free form' sort of child rearing was the way to go.
>Kids figure this stuff out on their own
>They're out of the nest, they have to fly eventually
It took a VERY long time for me to get my shit together because I had to go through all the hard stuff entirely on my own.

I had an overinflated sense of worth because I was so used to succeding at whatever I was doing. I had no idea that out in the real world, someone had to give you a chance to do it, and you had to outshine people who could do it just as well, or better, than you can.
I was a quick learner, so I could adapt to just about any role and find a way to excel. But in my mind that meant someone was going to spot my talent and escort me up to the upper echelons any day now, and I'd finally be where I belong, magically, with no effort.
When that didn't happen, it was as if the WORLD ITSELF was at fault, and I came to resent the world for failing me. How can it be so terrible at identifying talent and utilizing such a competent, adaptable, intelligent person such as myself?
So I wasted away in shit jobs for years, resentful, depressed, stressed out, and angry.

Yeah this is pretty much me. I NEETed for about 4 years after college and it destroyed me. My parents were hands-off pretty much my entire life, didn't even take me to go to the dentist or teach me about anything. I had to move out when I was 30, and even then, it was only because of my girlfriend at the time. Bless her soul, she tried to make me normal and reparent me, taught me how to do regular chores. My parents didn't give a fuck and would be insulted if I tried to do anything on my own

>but they just thought a more 'free form' sort of child rearing was the way to go.
This is very common in America now, but only became so recently. Prior to the mid 20th century and primarily the release of this book, American upbringings were categorized by discipline and ruthless control. Chores were as common as spankings, with the underlying idea that children are formless chaos that must be molded by strict instruction into functioning adults.

But then Dr Spock wrote this book, in which a successful adult is just waiting inside the child and only needs to be given the freedom to express itself, creating the modern style of laissez-faire childrearing. By the way, the first American generation raised this way was the boomer generation.

Great insight. I'm aware of 'Dr. Spock' and his book, but I had never really connected the dots. I appreciate you bringing it up.
My parents were boomers, and they just loved us so dearly that they wanted to "let the kids be kids", and we didn't even do chores or have any expectations. We were 'brilliant' kids who were destined for some kind of greatness. The universe will sort itself out, right?
They identified my talents correctly. I was logical, I was persuasive, I was creative, and enthusiastic. But instead of finding a way to direct that towards something tangible, they just figured those qualities would carry me forth into a happy adulthood magically.
But the world is harsh. It takes 'brilliant' kids and eats them up. I needed to be groomed for a role and put through some sort of 'rite of passage' that would make me feel like a contributing member of a group. Instead I was hit with the basic expectations of 'make enough to pay rent now', and 'buy food'.
I had no time to explore all of the world's opportunities. I had to eat. So I got a job at a convenience store working overnights. That paid for rent and food. It also ruined my life, but that's irrelevant because it staved off homelessness and starvation. Immediate priorities took precedence, and I guess my parents just figured I'd have some brilliant business idea come to me from 2am - 5am some night, and I'd find the time and money to make it happen. Obviously that didn't happen.
If you're not reaching into your network to find your son a good starting job, you're fucking up. I can say that confidently now. Because a young man cannot make moves and get entrepreneurial when he's staving off starvation and barely making rent. It's not possible.
But my parents were convinced that the universe would provide.
It ultimately did, surprisingly. But WAY delayed.
I eventually got a break, and found myself given opportunities. I was 27 when it happened.

Most successful entrepreneurs come from a place of plenty, not a place of need, and you experienced why. I forget the exact statistic but one of the most favorable indicators of the success of a start-up business is whether the founder received a large inheritance recently.

Most parents are terrible. I don't necessarily mean that in the sense that they all beat their children or are really neglectful. It's better to think of it in the same way you might the distribution for something like height or IQ. How you were treated falls on some kind of bell curve and the further to the right you are the easier it would be to become an adult and have a good life. But half of the people out there will have been on the other side of it (hence "terrible").

I would say that yeah, when you're just a child or teenager you can place a lot of blame on your parents for not preparing you for the world. But I would say that once you get to a certain age, it's not longer their fault, it's yours. You can't help the circumstances of your birth it is possible to change your social standing and have good life, better than your parents.

The lie that is sold to people is that anybody can be anything. That's actually a cruel cope that's put out there so people can live in fantasy and never actually work on their issues. You can tell yourself that your real life is starting next year or whenever and live like that in perpetuity. A realistic goal, even for someone that grew up poor is to get to the "middle class". I hate that Marxist term but most people have an idea of what that is and what goals they need to set: stable income, home, maybe one holiday a year and that sort of thing.

The problem with NEETing is that you can't really screw the system over by being dependent on it. Self employment was the norm up until recently. The idea of "jobs", especially these meme office jobs is a recent invention. Accept that it's retarded to expect all people to enjoy that. If someone is struggling with getting a "normie" job; and they're struggling with social aspects and keeping it they should find a profession that doesn't require lots of interaction with people. Hustle culture is cancer, don't look for get rich quick but there are lots of options out there.

I'm first hand witnessing this happen with cousins, two boys now 25 and 23. They both grew up this way and now are struggling to find jobs even though they do apply for them every week. I don't know what they can do about it or supposed to do about it, they don't have many skills and are physically very weak from a childhood of always being indoors gaming and television without any sports or outdoor activities. The crazy thing to me is that I perfectly understand why they are in the situation they are in but their father seems to be obviously to it.

I was raised exactly like this and am now 26. that post was always a psyop. the reposts of it aren't genuine unlike the sign tap. the bomb never explodes. people have lived like neets and not since the dawn of time. what is different now is that a young man can't walk down the street to the foundry like it was before the 60s and become a head of household.
head of household men are now a gimped persecuted and gagged minority. so what if a neet realizes they have done nothing. there was no way to break free except by gambling in a rigged game. bodybuilding almost requires being a neet and hiding it anyway.

work in a hyperinflated economy means feigning or being downtrodden. why do you think boomers love their spic slaves. because they are very good at appearing downtrodden after walking away from their avocado tourism paradise for "big american life" but what it's truly big american debt. you have to realize early the truth about work is making sure you do not show signs of being awake, because if you are awake then you cannot be bribed or pissed on.

It's possible to go a level up. I did that. It is realistic but you have to actually want to change. Both my parents were and still are retards with money. They grew up in a time where you could own a house and run a household on just one income. In fact all their other siblings managed to do that. My dad took after his dad with money and would just blow his paychecks. "money comes, money goes" type mindset.

Despite that, I made it into the middle class. Not just because of "education", but with a skill that's in demand (like software, hard science, engineering) and then just being good with money. After enough years you will climb out of poverty.

The problem is people who never want to make any kind of sacrifice for the future, "live for now" and never learn any lessons. That is the ticket to stay in your social bracket or even go down one or two. That's how people end up in their 60s and dirt poor, they had like 40+ years to correct for a bad start but never bothered, they'd rather complain.

I helped out my parents a lot as well. They were still paying off a mortgage after 30 years. There was a point where I realised that they were actually just took what I was doing for granted and began to expect handouts. They'll never phrase it that way due to pride but they'll always invent some problem like how a wall needs to be built and how they need 5 grand. But you know even if I gave them that there would be another thing and another. And neither of them will budget for things.

There's a certain mindset people have when they're poor that it perpetuates their poverty. Like I can explain to you how if you were to go to the bar with friends and how if one guy just never bought a round, he would always just disappear when it was his turn that you wouldn't want to associate with that person. That's the same reason why wealthier people just "don't have time" for poor people. It's because of how they view the interaction where you just want money from them.

to be fair m8, my parents were structured and disciplined with me from a young age, and I was still a fuckup neet in my early 20s. Got over it and done well for myself since then so can't be angry - parenting is hard and not easy to judge the best thing for your kid. Kids who are given no structure and allowed to do whatever they want can end up neet, but so can mollycoddled kids like me. Best thing is to do as you have done, forgive your parents and move forward, and try to avoid the pitfalls when you have your own children (you won't succeed, but with luck they'll forgive you as you did yours)

I can only try to learn from my parents' mistakes and improve upon my child's experience. I believe I already have. Both of my kids get more corrective action from me than I ever got.
I also will be giving them both about a year's salary worth of money when they enter the world. Obviously, I'll consider restricting it based upon what I think of their readiness for a large lump sum. But I believe I will have taught them to manage money properly, how to invest, and how to make money work for you while also serving as a buffer.
I never had a buffer, so I was constantly scraping against the cold hard concrete of $0 when I was young. It's brutal actually going hungry while trying to balance work, college, etc. Add on top of that having a girlfriend who has no patience for a broke, over-worked, stressed-out guy, and suddenly it's a recipe for disaster.
Being in your late teens and early 20s is brutal man. Especially without a continuous stream of help from parents.
I guess unless you find yourself already in a trade, being sufficiently paid to have a handful of the luxuries a young man needs to feel proud of himself. His own home, his own car, decent clothing, etc.
But I definitely didn't get that stuff. I couldn't afford my phone bill, let alone a car payment. I will probably have to cover that shit for my kids.

Someone posted this months ago:
>I’ve known a few NEETs in my time. The kind of people who never managed to get their lives off the ground, stuck in a cycle of self-loathing and stagnation. Some of them were lazy, sure, but it was never just about that. There was always something deeper at play, and after seeing the pattern repeat enough times, the common denominator became clear: their parents.

>Not just bad parents in the usual sense—these weren’t violent abusers or neglectful junkies. No, these were the absent yet omnipresent types. The ones who managed to be both overbearing and useless, hovering over their children’s lives just enough to stifle any real independence while never actually guiding them toward anything productive. They raised their kids to be weak, dependent, and afraid of the world while doing nothing to prepare them for it.

>These parents kept them on a tight leash, controlling them just enough to ensure they couldn’t grow on their own. They made their kids fear failure while never encouraging success. They taught helplessness, ridiculed ambition, and instilled a baseline assumption that the world was too hard, too cruel, and not worth engaging with. Then they turned around and sneered at their kids for turning out exactly as they were molded—passive, broken, directionless.

>It’s a perfect cycle of failure. Raise your child to be a loser, then blame them for losing. Teach them to avoid risk, then mock them for never taking any. Smother them just enough to kill their spirit, but not enough to make them resent you enough to break free. The perfect conditions for breeding a NEET.

while most of my classmates got jobs via their parents, mine just yelled at me for not figuring it out during the 60% unemployment of 08

Here's how it is playing out for me in real time:
>Raised by mentally ill former drug-addict NEET parents with no passions, hobbies or skills
>Inherited their mental illness and addictive tendencies
>Unlimited screen time, became a video game addict and started browsing 4chan at the age of 10
>Parents never made me get a job
>By some stroke of luck, I still ended up a "gifted" kid
>Breeze through elementary, middle school, and high school
>I'm a complete loser by every metric but my parents think I'm doing great just because of good grades
>Get a full-ride scholarship and go to one of the top-ranked engineering schools in the country
>Breeze through most of my degree and graduate
>Get a job straight out of school, move out and get my own place
>Despite my job being very cushy and "easy," my lack of drive or work ethic still leads to me slowly burning out over the course of two years
>Eventually gets so bad that I lose all motivation and just stop working, eventually get fired.
Fast forward to now and I am several months into a job search with no success. Engineering jobs, warehouse jobs, grocery stores, nothing. I'm close to running out of savings and I will likely have to move back in with my parents and NEET. I had an easy life handed to me on a silver platter and had a golden ticket out of poverty and I still squandered due to a complete lack of drive, ambition, work ethic, or hope. I don't know what the next several months will look like for me but i don't care anymore. People like me are just doomed to be incompatible with modern society.

You're in a better position than you might believe. It probably seems bleak now, but keep it up. Don't blame yourself, you likely just had a shit job that didn't fit for you.
It's easy to assume it's YOU who failed because the job burned out. I've had 6 jobs in 20 years. Two of them fit me really well, and i stuck with them for 6+ years. The other 4 lasted 2 years or less, and two of those I got fired from because I burned out and just sat there doing nothing half the time.
I consider myself successful enough. But I *didn't* when I was stuck in those jobs that didn't work for me. And trust me, I know the embarrassment and pain of getting fired. It sucks that it happened at your first job, but you can definitely recover.

The society that you so desperately want to be a part of is a cruel facade. You can be as successful as you want and have everything you desire, and it can all be taken away on the whim of a bored wife or a spiteful bureaucrat.

Your wife, children, home, car, savings, friends, retirement, pension, nothing is safe. Might be 5 years, might be 15 years, but nothing is guaranteed. You think marriage contracts and prenups and deeds and laws will save you, but they won't. You think love will save you but it doesn't exist, and all it takes is one momentary lapse to unravel everything.

Your wife can divorce you for no reason and take the kids and house and car and wealth, and you have no recourse. You can work your whole life and your government can just arbitrarily vote to deprive you of a pension you worked 50 years to earn and raise the retirement age past the average life expectancy. They can tax you and inflate currency until your savings are worthless and you can't afford to do any of the things you enjoy.

You truly own nothing and you have no legal protections of any kind. The social contract is fundamentally broken. The only people who truly get ahead are those willing to cheat and steal and manipulate because we've designed our system to reward that behavior.

Stop wanting and be free.
Take only what you need.
I make minimum wage through a mostly passive income and I'm richer and have more free time than anyone I know, not because I have a larger paycheck, but because I don't desire stupid pointless shit. I don't spend thousands of dollars a month on a family I don't like and property I don't need.
Spite them by having nothing they can take away from you.

you didn't enjoy your job, you had no passion for it.

“The real hopeless victims of mental illness are to be found among those who appear to be most normal. "Many of them are normal because they are so well adjusted to our mode of existence, because their human voice has been silenced so early in their lives, that they do not even struggle or suffer or develop symptoms as the neurotic does." They are normal not in what may be called the absolute sense of the word; they are normal only in relation to a profoundly abnormal society. Their perfect adjustment to that abnormal society is a measure of their mental sickness. These millions of abnormally normal people, living without fuss in a society to which, if they were fully human beings, they ought not to be adjusted.”

you need to find a passion or reason to work. It used to be you worked jobs you didn't have passion for to support your family, but if there is nobody to focus that love onto, and you also don't love your job, that leads to the life draining out of you and burning out. You need to discover a job you'd be willing to do because you actually enjoy it somewhat, even if it doesnt pay well. Rather be a cheerful zookeeper than a miserable doctor on antidepressants.

I went from earning six figures to less than half what I used to make but much much happier. I genuinely enjoy what I do now and actually look forward/excited to go into work (most of the time).
Plus having all the investments and savings from back then continue snowballing leaves me with a sense of security that I have a significant safety cushion.

Dont think about the money, think about what you want to do.

The problem with being a gifted kid is there’s nowhere in society for you. There’s legions of less smart people grinding their asses off to compensate and so any position that exists for a smart person also requires an exceptional level of drive and self-management.

You can be mostly competent, but if you’re someone who can’t be turned on 24/7 you get filtered out and then your brains mean nothing and are actually a detriment to fitting in.

I grew up with old hippie druggie parents, I always thought it was pretty normal to never have a bank account, to have your dad drunk 24/7 and to have to constantly live with your grandma because your parents fought yet again. It wasn't until my parents lost their house, my mother lost her mind to OCD/anxiety and became unable to function, and their fights turned into explosive arguments everyday.

Sob story aside, I basically ran away from home as a near HS dropout (I attended class once a month, I'm still amazed they didn't fail me, I have a way with words I guess) and lived with my brother-in-law's mother for a bit working dogshit hours at a factory filled with people clearly getting exploited. From there I bounced between jobs and mental issues, moving constantly and figuring out everything on my own, to this day I can barely function and lack many adulting skills (I have no fucking idea what credit is). As of now, I've been a NEET for two years renting out a room in a shit neighbourhood living off welfare and whatever money my parents send me occasionally to try and make things up. I know this isn't gonna last long but I'm not even sure what other options I have, I have no skills besides knowing Japanese and even in that I can barely speak it as I rarely leave my apartment and am terrified of new people.

I don't know how canada works but students here pretty much have to work to fail due to teachers using any excuse they can under the sun and sometimes outright making up grades to pass students.

When you make every failed student a gigantic bureaucratic nightmare for a teacher with consequences potentially leading up to firing this is what happens.

credit is just borrowed money, credit score is just a number the bank assigns to you like a stat that tells them how likely you are to pay back the borrowed money.

Have you considered polishing your japanese and seeking translation jobs for videogames and other stuff? Could be comfy as you'd be able to do it remotely I'd imagine but with the rise of google translate and AI this kind of job might be rarer and more rigorous these days.

Being a NEET is common sense in many countries. After-tax wages here are soft capped at about €2500/month. Unemployment nets you €1900. Full time job is €2100. College degree is an extrw €€100/month for €2200 and college degree with 30 years experience is €2500. The difference here between jacking off to anime for 30 years and being a brain surgeon is like €500/month after tax. I genuinely don't understand why anyone in this country wakes up in the morning. Every cent anyone makes goes to north african bums. So just be a bum.

And thanks, I vaguely understand credit but I didn't have a bank account until I was 19 so it's always hazy, I know it's something like that but it's such a distant world to me. I've thought about translation work but especially now that AI is a thing and being so broadly used, the market is incredibly dry. It's not an active pursuit, maybe one day, but I have a way of saying that too much, cause one day I might be homeless if I don't decide, I just think the translation world is probably the most fucked by AI. If that's how much working hard earns no wonder all the smart yet lazy people (the actual innovators who seek paths of least resistance) have dropped out and society is stagnating.

smart and hard working - the worker ants who do important jobs, typically never question how things are done and just grind away as a traditionalist
dumb and hard working - the worker ants who do required jobs
dumb and lazy - the leeches that drag down society
smart and lazy - people who come up with better solutions or seek alternatives that can lead to innovation, enough of them at least to outweigh the ones who just become neets or spin their wheels on pointless shit.

If anyone raises their child like that then it’s no wonder they turn out bad. It can happen to anyone. So, I‘m empathetic.Plus, not everyone knows how raise children in the modern era as well.
Thing is, children need role models and need to be brought into the fold. In the best case scenario, you need to be a good person and they need to be taught to live as you do. My son is only about 2,5 years old and happily helps me do chores or get things, usually listens very well when he’s not being occasionally rambunctious or isn’t ramped up. I do the same for him. It pretty much does, these rates apply to anything u make over 34K/year. Up to 34K/year the tax rate is "only" 45% + 8% + 20.5%

Complete waste of time. So I dropped out of college and spent 1 year DIY fixing up a small house, flipped it at a 250K profit, there ya go, 20 years of wages had I been a doctor. Im 10 years into my 20 years of playing video games.

Nobody in the european union has a career for income, its for prestige, to keep busy, making money is basically illegal in europe. Europe is a prison of mediocrity, you cannot ruin your own life, the state won't allow it. But you cannot succeed in life either, the state will not allow it.

wow, I got a (you). I wouldn't get married. I know it sounds cliche', but I wasted my mid 20s to mid 30s trying to be a stable family man, when I could've been building my projects (software for banking/real estate/insurance). I began life at 36 after my ex did me the biggest favor ever--she murdered my old life and sent me adrift. I lived in my car for a while, and there I started my software company.
If I had that fire in me at 26 instead of 36, I'd be soo better off.
I came of age with the internet, and it looks like I'll retire with the advent of the AI boom (tho I have doubts).
The main thing you need to do in life is be able to do something that almost no one else can do. Find a rare skill that you love and do it for 18 hrs a day for a decade, and then you'll be comfy. Also, workaholics get laid a lot apparently.

>you werent gifted
Well, you're right about that. Once i got into a field where my 'natural talent' would carry me, I discovered that even if you're happily in the top 10% of 'natural talent', the top 2% are yet another tier above. And the top 0.1%, who comprise the core of many of these successful companies, will make me look like an absolute dunce in my own field of expertise.
I think that was a big lesson I had to learn. I am of middling intelligence in the grand scheme of things. Just smart enough to be useful. Not smart enough to be indispensible.
So, yeah, I had to be humbled. Perhaps that's what took 10 years from me. Instead of working dead-end jobs and telling myself fairytales about how the world hasn't yet discovered my brilliance, I found myself working high-end jobs where I could no longer lie to myself about what I had to offer.
I'm happily mediocre now. Still in the top 10%, but I now understand there's a vast chasm, and i'm still on peak normie, looking up at the heights I'll never reach. But I have a good salary, good savings, a family, etc. So I can take pride in what I have done and be content.

Try getting an official translator certificate so that you can rubber stamp official documents for bureaucratic purposes. If you’re that good, you could also expand on that, get trained or study for some sort of role whereby language skills are a huge plus, and then get an edge in.
I assume you are fluent in French and English, you being Canadian. France offers ‚free‘ university education to anyone, not just EU states (it‘s about 350 a semester because you have to pay the Uni fees for student full health insurance). If you can save up about 12k€, apply to Uni there. There is a special agreement between France and Canada, I believe, which simplifies the visa process too.

>How can it be so terrible at identifying talent

You have caught the scent of a problem: jews.

Whether Nazi Germany or China before jews ruined it, what's normal is for society to scour society for high-IQ individuals and try to coax them into the most important positions they can handle.

"Mein Kampf" discusses this at some length. China used to give everyone a test to decide who would basically rule.

jews hate meritocracy and also want to simply oppress and exterminate Whites, so they flood the media with "bootstraps" thinking.

No, we're not supposed to figure things out for ourselves or toil for decades to rise to our proper places. We're supposed to take tests and then by groomed to fill the positions society needs us to fill.

We have such a short time. It feels like it was 30 years ago just yesterday. We have a limited time to get it done. Caesar saw a statue of Alexander the Great when he was 33, and BEGAN greatness at that moment.

When Julius Caesar, at the age of 33, saw the achievements of Alexander the Great, he wept. Not from a result of mourning or fear for his own life, but from a recognition: Alexander conquered the world before the age of 33 and yet he had done nothing similar, nothing that would warrant remembrance by future generations. What, then, was the worth of his life? Who would remember an average Roman governor of Spain? Who would remember the name of Caesar?

This line of questioning seems to be a common experience. At some point in our lives, we all seem to ask the same question: Have I made a difference? And again: What do I have to show for the past year, decade, lifetime? This type of questioning can lead people to a “mid-life crisis”—radical changes in an effort to be remembered.

Maybe it’s society and isn’t you. Or maybe it was both. After seeing so kany other people struggle i’ve come to the conclusion that society is economically ruined to an unfathomable level. Even in the great depression you could find odd jobs. Something weird is happening. It’s like as if we’re going theough a great depression but somehow someway jews are able to control or manipulate it, and thats how we get situations where everybody is impoverished yet the “GDP” is “high” (maybe gdp is fake and gay)? And where there isn’t a “famine” yet nobody can buy food nor get cash to do so.

dude im not a anthropologist i dont have a deep understanding of normie culture.
i just know there was a strong shift from hanging out at recess playing football and basketball to around 16-19 where everyone was having private exlutionary parties organized via facebook.
in a few year the shift happened where facebook, instagram became the goto points of contact and organisation.
i had a normie friend who told me he got more sex via his tumblr page just from women who lurked. suddenly chads got grapevine ads by word of mouth between women.

the real shift was people didnt go out to bars to meet people. thathappened when i was 18 but it was already dying out. by 22-25 there was set groups. friends went out planned with other friends. group and groups. every activity was now pre planned interally via fb groups instead of the goal of meeting people.

society self sorted into hierarchies of looks and status by these groups. instead of being a free for all

20-35 hours a week with a bunch of hot young female coworkers is the healthiest and most fulfilling life you can reasonably expect to have. You have to expend energy somehow or another and doing it alone, especially in a gym is masochistic and unhealthy. Can't start a family because the vast majority of women are rancid whores.
Can't buy a home (that's not a commieblock apartment) out of pocket no matter how much you earn - still need to get a 30 year mortgage.
Purchasing power in a constant nosedive because of more and more taxes and other state meddling in the economy.

Holy shit you’re right about it all.

Did you notice that during that era, normies started to drop friends and replace them with new “better versions” that they’d meet online (usually faceberg)? I saw this start fo happen in my friends group and in others, and then I became a victim of it. I got replaced in my garage friends band with a new base player. All just because they thought he gave them a better look. They met the dude on kikebook. Bro that was like 15 years ago and im still pissed about it. That shit wouldn’t have started happening without Facebook connecting people unnaturally.

I am starting to believe that somehow, spiritually maybe, certain people “aren’t supposed to meet”. And social media breaks through that. I am reallybstarting to think that there is something to this.

This shit all feels like I died and fell into a Black mirror episode

Same here anon. This kind of parenting that you and me has experienced is a kind of abuse that's very hidden and isn't adressed unfortunately because from the outside, they look like the most loving, generous parents ever. But they seriously hampered my adult life, I had to learn everything from scratch very late (even how to shave myself) and I still have difficulties and issues because of their "free spirited parenting". They also enabled a gamer NEET lifestyle for many years which is kind of like giving a constant stream of heroin. I managed to break the spell and had an epiphany for my fucked up situation. It took lifting myself up with my bootstraps to break free from their brave new world-ish entrapment they had put me in. It's some kind of munchausen imo

Instead you'd just hop on whenever you want and play with completely ransom people and the second anyone does anything that hints at them not being very competent, everyone just bails to go join a new group because theres now a system to just find people automatically, and never make friends with anybody because no one has any trust or value when they could be replaced instantly

ur 100% right. early MMO fostered friendship via guilds and you had to overcome social teidousness that lead to closer bonds to beat endgame. autofinding groups setup a social status tier game where you just exploited people based on their skills and instead of making friends you just objectified people to their dps.
LFG was facebook but for IRL you stopped having friends you stopped fostering social bonds and it became a rush for beating raids by just getting into a hypergamous friends ditching into a higher social circle.

even normie men did this. if u were "odd" or not attractive they cut you off even if u been friends for 10 years in school because their new facebook friend was better tool to game women. or their coworker was better to game a salary.
i instantly lost most friends within 3 years directly after highschool.

difference is genx didnt experience this. my mom and dad as boomers still have friends 40+ years later they keep in touch with from highschool.

i can´t blame kids these days, because economy is fucked since boomers didn´t do shit, besides "sex, drugs,Rock n roll".
but for me was different.
my parents were so envious of me, that they sabotaged me, in every effort for making money and having a career.
i thought they were stupid son of bitches,i didn´t understood why they wanted me to depend on them, but in the end i learned the hard truth, i was never their son, my supposed parents are both Jews, that kidnapped me, for some secret cult. they wanted me chained economically. because they know the moment i get some money i would leave them forever.
and since i am not Jewish myself. my father is bald and i am not, they sabotaged me, because i am not from the curse of canaã lineage.
because they are envious of me, i always pointed out the wrong stuff they always did, how they lacked soul and wanted to do things wrongly.
in the end i just learned that i am white, and they somewhat wanted me to mix with some ugly jewess for some specific breeding scheme.
in American soil you can at least work outside and get your life moving, since your economy.

This.
My boomer parents didn't want to be bothered with parenting, frankly. I wasn't made to do chores except sporadically. I wasn't taught many basic life skills (budgeting, paying bills, even acting like a decent civilized person at a dinner table--I only learned how to set a table because I got a job at a restaurant). If anything my mom inhibited any attempt I made to grow up and be an adult. I was bitched at for wanting to go to drivers ed, bitched at and made to feel a nuisance for wanting to go to college; like basically my parents just didn't want to help me out or advance my attempts to become an adult, though they did some things grudgingly, I think only because I annoyed the shit out of them.
So in my opinion, the difference between me and a NEET is that I had the will to resist my parents attempts at sabotage/lack of care for my future. TL;DR: My mom hated me and for that reason I didn't become a NEET but my sibling who was loved did become a NEET.

I have been on this website for like a decade since then, it is so strange you know, back then all we had was facebook and no one openly spoke about how shitty women are and this place was the only one in which you could read real stories of real ppl living through the same shit i did, while the normies never tell the truth even if they know you are right.

imagine asking your father to play soccer with you, but he never did.
otherwise he really did was watch ney matogrosso on tv, while i wanted to watch chaves on tv.
when you get older, you finally understand why your father never really gave advice on how to get woman...

We live in a culture where human skills, such as child rearing or how to be an adult, simply aren't taught to many kids and teens. They get an education on math and history, but not one on life.

My own experience has been that I didn't really know what the fuck I was doing or up from down until my 30s. Got it all pretty together now but boyo could it have been optimised in hindsight.

You are depressed because you haven't accepted the purpose of this.
You cannot save the normies, you cannot save society, these things are not in your hands, all you can do is fix your own life and save yourself. Wherever you go you will always find likeminded people, even in the most unlikely of places like 4channel.

Accept reality.
Maturity is rejecting Nihilism because Nihilism will devour your soul.

Nihilism is a brain parasite, memes much like diseases spread through people. All human communication is possible only because we share the same brain parasites to some degree, you may call it a language but language is GOD and i do mean capital G GOD. This is too complicated to explain here without going on a schizo rant that would be literally endless but all you need to know is that you must evolve your mind beyond the parasites, they should serve you, whatever is useful must remain and whatever is not must be corrupted into something that is useful for you personally.
If you want to change reality you must begin by changing yourself, we do not have the power to force people to change, we must inspire them to change willingly, this is how real change is accomplished, we must be the proof that a better way IS POSSIBLE.

The sun raises every single day on the horizon against all odds, against total darkness he fights on, even if he knows that one day he may die he struggles on, likewise, we must be like the sun, facing off against eternal darkness every single day with no fear for the future, i am here today and there are people that need me and i will not fail them.

most people will never retire. they will work until they are dead or they will not be able to work and drain the resources of others. Being a NEET means you can be retired for the first 35 years or more of your life and then when you get ejected because your parents died or they got tired of your shit you can just find some stupid bimbo to be your new mom or you can become homeless and drink vodka all day in abandoned squats. find a homeless girlfriend and get a dog if you're lonely. if you ever get tired or bored or hungry you can do small petty crime and spend the night in jail before being released with a full belly and a good night sleep. what's wrong with that?

why are normies seething at the sight of picrel?
guess what retards: being a neet means you have so much free time at your disposal with virtually zero debt and expenses, it's a massive headstart compared to your peers that go the traditional college (debt) -> rat race for internships (while paying debt back) -> first job (with massive pay cut due to debt) -> potentialy getting divorceraped (in the US the divorce rates for first marriage are 50% it's literally a gamble at this point, you genuinely have better chances at guess on which side a flipped coin would land, and anyone is obviously thinking that "she's the one" and that "it won't be me" but then 1 out of 2 men get their lives destroyed)
if you decide to invest all that freedom and free time time into vidya and manga it's your choice, instead you could learn valuable skills (and no, you don't need a degree if you can show that you know your shit, your github is much more important than your degree when applying for a job), apply for jobs, actually better yourself physically and intellectually in any domain you like
internet is at your disposal and there are infinite hours of training material, courses, education books (just go the the website of a random course and check out the "suggested course literature" section) and it's all free
zero commute, no distractions for random exams, in some countries you can even attend uni lectures for free without being enrolled, like you literally walk into the auditorium and listen whatever the boomerfaggot prof has to say if it's interesting to you

neetdom is blessing, instead of going through the motions like an automaton this is the true way to know yourself and show what you are capable of
if you wasted your precious neet years on alcohol and masturbation then you wouldn't have gotten far if you went the traditional route anyway

I was lucky that my parents actually did teach me "life skills", which really just boil down to being house trained, personal hygiene and managing personal finances. I still meet people my age or older who haven't figured out how to shower/wash their clothes and themselves let alone a house or an apartment. Still a neet though coming on 5 years now for reasons unrelated to my upbringing. It's not a situation I want to be in, but I'm here.
Short story time:
Having worked every year since the age I was 15, I've found that generally people are insincere, lazy and sometimes dangerously dishonest, from the top to the bottom of the workplace hierarchy. Most of the jobs I've worked, I was the only person who bothered to show up on time (barring one where I intentionally slacked off as an experiment). It's honestly like being a zoo, it's shocking to me the way people behave. If more people were raised like me, I'd have no trouble interacting with society, but because time theft, dishonesty, scamming, backstabbing and using other people like pawns are all so common, I'm left being the odd one out. Wasn't raised to be a hustler. These are all things I'm morally opposed to because of the way I was raised (both Catholic and Protestant.) Once the political balkanization started happening during Trump's initial presidency, society was no longer safe to interact with for me.
Another barrier for me is that I chose to remain unvaccinated. In Canada, this is a financial, social and political death sentence, as over 80% of peoples here are not only double vaccinated, but fully on board with the popular false narrative of the meme flu.
I haven't worked since lockdowns, not that I haven't tried. I've faced persecution and ostracization for my personal medical decision. Not only that, but my bank account was frozen for a period of 3 months for donating to the Freedom Convoy protest, so I have lost all faith in my government and my 'fellow" Canadians.
This is why I'm a neet.

I can kind of relate to neets ,as I kind of live like them. I'm 26 soon to be 27 and still live at home, and rarely leave the house, shitpost on 4chan during the day, game nightly with friends, so from an outside observer I kind of look like a neet,

But unlike real neets, I have a degree and full time remote job with a base salary that puts me 17k above median and about 2k above avg for income for 25-54 year olds males. While my parents paid for most of my and my siblings schooling,(about 60-70% depending on the year) , they never really gave us an allowance at any point, and required us to work in high school and uni for spending money and to cover the part of school costs, that they could not. (3 kids in university at one time is expensive, and we did not qualify for government loans)

I plan to move out closer to 30, Thankfully my parents are wonderful people who let me live rent free, so I can save up for a house, as I got the ugly so I can't copy my sisters and get my spouse to buy me a house.

I sometimes feel bad for the folks who don't have good relationships with their parents, and whose parents did not give them the tools one needs to grow into a functional adult, assuming their parents were able to do so.
