Nativists view immigration as the destination country being exploited by an immigrant.

In reality, immigration is the origin country 'steeling' a resource from the origin country. The destination country gets a working adult while paying nothing for their education and childhood.

In the future, as birth rates in low to middle income countries declines, expect to see some countries impose exit restrictions to prevent population collapse. Basically, immigration means that rich countries are shielded from population collapse in our lifetime because we can just get immigrants. That's a massive crisis that will be averted as long as we do not fall for nativism.

Most people live in cities because we don't need people to work in agriculture anymore. We are able to produce so much food with only 1.5% of our population working in agriculture. High level manufacturing can make sense to produce in the USA, but plastic trinkets and clothing makes more sense to produce where labor is cheaper, and as a consequence clothes and goods are very cheap for Americans.

By the way, I am not against China or anything, but the Chinese system does not really produce new ideas, as its entire structure works against that. In imperial China, people often memorized a few books, and exams were based purely on what was written in those books rather than on the creativity of individuals or their ability to generate new information. The history of China is largely a history of trying to keep everything together, which is why hierarchy and conformity have always been central, regardless of whether it was the Ming, Qing, Republican, or Maoist period. I never said anything about race. 14% of Denmark is of a foreign background. The main reason they do well is their pharmaceutical industry.

Also, its tough to just compare one 5M population EU country to the USA. Denmark is apart of the European economy, and EU countries can be seen kind of like US states economically (not nearly as integrated and with language barriers, but still).
