I really only play like 2 games out of my massive Steam library, and even then, I play them less and less with age.
Windows was always best for my lazy ass but constantly getting harassed by bloatshit, and constantly being bugged about Windows 11 has taken its toll. Plus theyre going out of their way to make W10 nonfunctional and events they'll just force the change to W11 like they did with everything else. The straw that broke the camels back is that ever since the last Windows update, I randomly lose focus of the current window or program. I have to click in the active window/program/game to regain focus. Like in a game, I'll randomly stop being able to use keyboard commands as if I suddenly alt-tabbed. I have to click on the game to refocus. Its hard to explain and I can't even search it on Google, reddit, or ChatGPT since nothing works anymore.
Im 5 seconds away from walking away from computers in general. I still do some creative shit with them and I browse the web (what's left of it), if push comes to shove I'll just walk away from all of this and use some offline PC or just write and draw with pen and paper only.
I just want to use my computer to play games and do art, and neither Windows or apparently Linux will let me do that.

Another thing I find amusing is that there is absolutely no standardisation for the replacement words. For example, for 'sanity check' they were saying replace it with 'confidence check' but as you can see it's not on the list there for the Linux "guidelines".

Many people in this thread think that linux today is linux 15-20 years ago, back then it was for enthusiasts, but nowadays I don't feel bad at all about putting it on the computers of babushkas, they use it to videochat with other babushkas, I put it on the computer of a farmer and he's happy when all he needs is a browser and a spreadsheet editor for his pig spreadsheets... A normie gamer friend? He can install his own software through the GUI, and Steam makes gaming on linux efortless. It's totally fine.
