That is, the gov demands the employer puts them in the company as a FTE otherwise it would fine the employer. Both parties hate this since the company just wants a contractor that'll be easy to get rid off and does a good job and the contractor wants to earn double than what he does compared to employment. This led to a situation that in almost all professions here you have these shitty consultancy companies paying jackshit while raking in the profits from all those contracts that are no longer given to self employed / solo contractors.

There was a company called Petro Canada that did all the service contracts on oil furnaces. They changed their name to Upper Canada Fuels just to remove employee pensions.

I dropped out of the trades after like 10 years. The pay is shit all the bosses are faggots and you just feel like shit cause you work 12 hour days most of the time and weekends too.
