>just go into the trades bro!
I fucking did
>boomer boss in his 70s demanded maximum $10/hr starting pay
>had to worm my way into convincing management to up my pay to $16/hr after three fucking years
>boss decides I'm costing him too much money, cuts my hours, only cleared $12,500 the last year I worked
>subjected to 130+ degree attics, cuts all over my hands, came home covered in itchy fiberglass insulation and with a pounding headache every day from bug bomb pesticides and rat shit from the attic and underneath houses
>stuck on a job where the ductwork is fucked and nothing within the job scope will fix it, and the customer has called us back twice, so decide to completely take it apart and re-do it properly because the moron that installed it couldn't put two legos together, let alone a duct
>job takes 5 hours more than boss quoted, tell him directly to his face why that was, and told him not to pay me for the overage because I did it right, with my own materials, and the customer is happy
>he uses this incident as a reason to fire me months later because "I don't listen" and "I cost him too much", meanwhile, he's paying me literal fucking pennies while I run his errands, put up with his bullshit and calm his customers down after he insults them
The trades are fucked, wages need to be $400% higher, the money itself is worthless, the job environment sucks balls, the morons doing trades are retarded, the customers are retarded, the suppliers are retarded, the manufacturing companies are retarded.
I would rather work in a fucking air conditioned office dealing with IT bullshit and retarded boomers not knowing their CAPS lock is on than ever, ever step foot in the trades again. I'd go into law enforcement before I ever do a trade again.
