Why would they remain static in their roles? Just like with humans, gods can make children with one another, and even with mortals. And the balance of power can shift. Demigods and mortals raised to godhood also exist in paganism.

This being the case, Odin would have been overthrown ages ago, just like mortal kings overthrown by rivals or sons.
The universe doesn't make sense under this assumption because nature is pretty consistent and reality would constantly shift. If nature doesn't shift, then why even worship powerful gods who have zero connection to the fundamental laws of the world and doesn't care about morality?

Christian or not, it makes sense that there is one single all powerful and good being who dictates the laws of reality and isn't some squabbling child who lusts after something like gold like most small minded paganist gods do.
