constant volatility with tariff announcements - setting them and then pausing them and then dropping them and then raising them is intended to make other countries feel insecure and off balance in trade talks but it is absolutely paralyzing new projects at home. it makes planning costs for new construction/expansions fucking impossible past a six month horizon and these projects take years to get off the ground and up and running. my industry has seen a massive chill in new projects to assist with. we are involved in the early planning stages of new development so this retardation is going to have massive years long downstream impacts on other sectors related to manufacturing.

You lost tranny. Trump support for Israel is at its highest and their pedos are safe.

Nah seriously, I don't think that Trump and his advisors really measured the perversity of the trade/industry situation.
Also, the task of reindustrializing the USA is immense and would take at least 10 years to produce some effects.
Same thing with the deportations...

Adding to this: the public sector isn't any better off. Doge and Trump attacking his own agencies has put everyone in the government sector on 'freeze up like a deer and hope not to get noticed' mode, because providing an essential service that people need to live ISN'T ENOUGH to spare you Trump's ire.
MAGA likes to pretend that the people getting punished by this are fat old office workers in DC that soak up government money and don't do anything, but they miss the forest for the trees. The government is an absolutely massive employer in the US, and government funding keeps the wheels of a lot of industries spinning. When that all freezes up, a shitton of projects and contracts across the US all have no idea whether or not the work they have already signed for and started work on is actually going to be funded to be completed.

Its just a recipe for a petrified economy all around. The only reason that shit hasn't gotten worse faster is because of how strong an economy we had to start with, but just because we are bleeding out slow doesn't mean we are not bleeding out.

Nah.
American Steel producers VS. American Steel conumers.

Your Steel-consuming job sector outnumber your steel-producer job sector 80 to 1.
If your inffinite folly, you sided with your Steel-producers, and raped your Steel-consumers with higher prices, so the 1:80 minority could rak in more money, at the cost of the 80:1 majority.

That is not how tariffs work. WE, the Americans pay more for imported products, in order to encourage us to buy local instead, and then the local producers (being jews) raise their prices to be just under that of the price + tariff of the imported goods.
Basically , this whole thing would have only worked with price controls on local products along with government subsidies to help pay for increasing manufacturing capacity to meet the demand, neither of which are in the works (because Donnie is a jew).
