Because the importer pays additional taxes, they have to buy fewer imports. Likewise, they need to recoup the extra expenses by charging the consumer more money. This punishes the exporter with lower demand for their product and the importer with greater cost to import foreign goods. In theory, the demand for imported goods by the consumer drops due to higher prices and local products become more desirable due to equitable pricing.

What if the importer charges a few extra dollars above the tariff and local producers want in on the increase in prices? That’s what’s currently happening. Price gouging, blaming the tariffs.

In my opinion, the eu is part of the american empire. The chinks, on the other hand, are the coming empire. They were financed by the american empire, but that's normal in history.
