These are PD trade ins, the one i got is a gen 4 g22. Its literally brand new and must have been a reserve gun because its in perfect condition. I'm not averse to a little wear if the guns are cheap. Its a tool after all, and all these the ones I've gotten have been in excellent working condition. The site will tell you the condition of the batch you're buying.

Every soldier here gets a SIG 550 (which is just a expesnive modified AK 47). Depending on your branch of service sometimes you also only get a pistol or additionally a pistol to the rifle (no idea what it's called). We aren't even allowed to keep ammunition at home though.
However the rifles themselves were never tested in an actual war situation. They are simply used for leisure.

I actually started training with them and saw how confusing it is to have to switch controls locations and manuals of arms so often. I keep a few guns now and they're all as similar as possible. For example I'm unlikely to buy a crossbolt safety gun because I'm used to thumb selectors. I got yelled at once for mortaring an AR during a simround drill, so I don't personally own bitch ass guns that break when you mortar them.

Reminder that Canada already has concealed carry licenses. We call them Authorization To Carry or ATC for short.
There are a few different kinds.The most common ones are:
Wilderness carry (generally issued to trappers, geologists, professional guides and the like)
Occupational (think: armed money carriers), which does allow carrying in residential areas, but only while doing your job.
The ones for personal protection require you prove that you have multiple credible threats against your life and get the police to essentially admit that they are incapable of protecting you. The application fee is large, non-refundable and it is de facto SHAN'T issue.
