A small business can be destroyed by a couple of hires that get a bad disease over a few years. The large corporations can weather that storm much, much better and at grander scale. This is the thought process behind most regulations, and the largest contributor to the growing wealth divide.

Yes and no. Historically no communist society has worked, but many socialist or hybrid societies have. This could be because full communism is le bad, or it could be because its implementation. If anyone wants to actually read about real communism, Engels and marx never said communism should be a political party that we force and rush into. Their entire theory was predictive of what is inevitable, not what should be. Tbh America is doing this correct. It is not captialism nor communism, but actually falls in between. Its developed to this point through a natural progression. In contrast both USSR and China have decided to implement communism by rushing into it. China less so, as they went through their 2 system one government phase, and are now in a hybrid model of communism exterior with capitalism underlining it. Its forced and artificial, so it may still fail, but it is more inline with true communist theories of progression. Their reasoning was because the society would need to be technologically advanced. Id argue only the US is capable of achieving real communism, though I think it's still a little deficient. The natural (and predicated) consequences of late stage capitalism is very apparent once you look.

My jaw was broken my freshman year in college so my mouth had to be wired shut for 3 weeks. I had a note sent to my communications professor by my surgeon and one by my parents saying i couldn’t give speeches and had to stay home. He emailed back saying he wanted x-rays. A signed note from the surgeon wasn’t enough.

I live in the Deep South and went to a university where they give scholarships to “underprivileged” kids….. Many of them end up dragging us all down and piss off all the professors b/c they abuse the system. The professors don’t believe anyone about anything. Cheating is rampant so the new test taking system is a huge pain in the ass.

I can’t really blame the university though. You never really know when your exam might be - just depends on when the professor can get a highly monitored computer lab room. But some students have work etc during that time slot. (It’s not the same time as the class and not listed on the schedule when you make your class schedule b/c it’s random and changes upon availability.) They don’t care. It’s BS. But it is what it is.
