Vegas became an overpriced version of LA.

No one wants to go to a city full of crazy homeless people on drugs, criminals or scammers everywhere, then pay 20 dollars for a beer, and 300 a night for a hotel room where the only entertainment is gambling or some overpriced show.

For most people I completely agree. If you literally cant walk in the building with a budget and stick to it, you should never enter a casino. I essentially live at a casino and don't gamble much at all but like to observe. It's crazy what people do in casinos. Watched people obviously lose more than they can afford and damn near cry. Seen people shit themselves at machines. Seen dead people at machines. Insane.

Vegas is a city with a giant theme park in the middle of it, and theme parks are dying. The house always wins, but they'll never win anything if nobody's playing. People have wised up to casino tricks and have better things to do with what little money they have anymore than throw it in a hole in the desert. That's an activity for the good times.

Prostitution is still only legal in Nevada and actually decriminalized in the entire state and always has been. Few people know or appreciate that. However Maine of all places just two years did the same exact thing except for the customers they raised it to a felony. So thats no good. Nevada and now Maine are decriminalized for the prostitutes only but Nevada customers are still just a misdemeanor. That's why there are so many thousands of prostitutes working in just Vegas alone. If thats not worth making a place work I dont know what is.

The local services that were there to serve tourists are better in every single way than what the hotel's cheap mimickry, so unless you are cheaping out you wabt to go with the local specialized services anyway; so your resort fee literally pays for nothing or at best a subpar experience. >No, we will not bring back buffets, end resort fees, or lower minimums on table games. Pay $13 for your bacon egg and cheese and shut the fuck up.
That's the attitude of businesses today. If no one will pay their high prices, then they'd rather go out of business than lower their prices and make less profit.
Business and markets are not rational. They can be sort of rational for a while under the right circumstances, but even then many businessmen, great and small, value power and dominance over profit.
Markets need heavy regulations to keep them from falling apart. British liberalism was always naive with its assumption that people are rational actors and that businesses and government can be kept apart.

The thing about Vegas that a lot of people dont seem to understand (especially people who belive that anyone who gambles is automatically a degenerate addict) is that besides being cheap it used to be fun. Gambling could be used to help get things for your trip even if you didn't win, casinos tended to have multiple ways to get "free" chips, it was pretty easy to get free drinks and food, low entry cost tournaments could get you a ton of perks etc etc. And now from what I understand thats mostly gone.

The problem with capitalism is the economic concept of moral hazard; the incentives on the people making decisions are not equivalent to the incentives on “the business” as an imaginary actor.

“The business” can weigh longevity against time preference and decide losing $1bn now to make $50bn over the next 5 years is smart. But the business doesn’t think. The CEO or COO or whomever thinks. And that guy is only concerned with the numbers during his tenure, so he can bonus off of them and then quit before the fallout. He will burn the future for a few pennies in the present because he doesn’t plan to be around when the consequences occur.

This is why privately owned and operated companies are typically so much less evil and retarded than public ones. Public companies are awful at long term planning. The system actively selects for seed corn eating.

This is why. Sure, you can exploit a captive consumer at a pool and charge them $28 for a Coors Light, it’s a short term gain but they go home, tell their friends, and it leaves a bad taste in their mouth. Now everyone has these ridiculous stories from Vegas of paying some absurd premium for basic shit and its finally reaching a breaking point where everyone just sees it as a rip off and they just book a vacation in Florida instead. The cruise industry also seems to have capitalized well off social media, seems like cruises are more popular than ever, I suspect that industry has slowly been stealing leisure travel from Vegas.

>If no one will pay their high prices, then they'd rather go out of business than lower their prices and make less profit.
They literally can't lower their prices. Everyone is already down to razor thin profit margins. This isn't happening because greedy owners are jacking up prices to make more money, it's the lasting effects of years of very high inflation under Biden.
Menu prices aren't arbitrary, if somewhere charges $13 for a bacon egg and cheese now, it's because it costs them about $4 to buy the raw ingredients for that sandwich, and the other $9 goes to pay for rent/mortgage, utilities, wages, supplies and equipment, consumables, licenses, advertising, the POS system, etc. There is effectively no profit, and most places are just trying to survive and somehow ride this out.
If customers refuse to pay $13 for a bacon, egg, and cheese, it's not economically viable to keep it on the menu.

PEOPLE DON'T HAVE ANY FUCKING MONEY.
I get so goddamn sick of boomers being all fucking confused with why younger people aren't getting out anymore, going to social events, buying plane tickets, showing up at concerts, etc.
They've designed a worldwide economic system based on keeping people living paycheck to paycheck, and now they don't have the money to afford all this fancy shit.
I wanted to go see a concert in my home town. Went to go buy the tickets like 8 months in advance. SOLD OUT. If I wanted to go, I'd have to pay some scalper like 400 dollars. Can't afford it, so I can't fucking go.
All this fun entertainment shit that's supposed to be, traditionally, for young men and women is now populated exclusively by fucking geriatrics.
Take burning man, for example. Almost fucking everyone there is 40+, and if there *is* someone younger showing up, it's some boomer's son/daughter/mistress.
I'd like to go on vacation to Las Vegas. Sounds fun! Unfortunately, I fucking can't because it's an idiotic waste of money, and I can't fucking afford it.

But wages WON'T go up, because they can just import third-worlders to be enslaved instead.
>Huh, white people won't work for insultingly low wages?

Fast forward to our consumer economy collapsing and they pretend they don't know why. America's economic strength has long been that we have the biggest consumer economy in the world. We buy shit. That means people can sell shit. That means there's profit to be made, and wages to pay. Obvious.
But they've wanted to have their cake and eat it too. They want us to BUY shit without PAYING shit. Yeah, that retardation doesn't work. You can't just keep cutting wages and jacking up prices and expect people to still be able to consume.
They're literally suffocating their golden goose out of greed.

This will be the end of cruise ships
>sold out boats
>different demographic but constantly booked
>how is that bad?
Boarding passes account for roughly 50% of cruise ship profits. The other half is from excursions when the shop is docked and “premium packages.” Blacks pay for just the cruise and nothing else. By catering to a poorer demographic and remaining race blind, these companies will bankrupt themselves.

Amusement parks are suffering the same fate. Ticket sales are an even slimmer margin, something like 35% of profits. The rest is all in-park spending; merchandise, concessions, premium passes, and various types of upgrades experiences.

Non-whites simply don’t participate in any extraneous spending outside of just buying a ticket. They have fun in the park, and the parks are always busy, but show me any kind of business model that can take such a massive hit to 65% of its revenue and survive.

Again, they operate on a race-blind model. The idea of getting a different demographic into the park isn’t even considered. They view people as simply units. The outdated model (from when white people were the vast majority) was to get more people into the parks. Operations realized that by lowering ticket prices they would more than make up for it with in-park spending. Unfortunately the demographic shift combined with lower admissions resulted in a brown tide. The parks fill up with people but still lose money. The damage is done and there is no fix.

Pic unrelated

The fix is simple actually, they just don't want to do it yet.
>raise entry ticket prices
>reduce in park concessions prices
A balance is easily achievable. Instead they want to get everyone on plans, subscriptions, memberships, and sell their personal data to make up the difference, and nickel and dime them outside the park: parking fees, hotel and restaurant packages, etc.

Amusement parks are so fucking easy to run and min-max they make video games out of it.

The problem is that yes, there are some good Chicago suburbs, if you go downtown where the city actually is you wind up having to deal with all the bullshit nevrons cluttering the sidewalks and public transit. Oh and the traffic is fucking awful for driving. So you can commute to your skyscraper office and that's very nice, but you inevitably have to deal with the shit. It's like SF if you don't have a shuttle from your suburb to literally the front door of your office/campus.

So at that point why even bother living in or near Chicago? The unique parts are shitcovered. The non-shit covered parts have identical replacements all over the country without the big city problems all over the midwest, pacific northwest, non-cali southwest, northeast, and if you don't mind humidity, the south. Basically, any mid-sized city.

You get better bang for your buck and far better state laws if you just live near a decent international or large regional airport, then just fly to whatever city you want when you feel like visiting. For me, it's just outside Vegas. Others to to Austin. Phoenix is good if you don't mind the heat and air quality.

That's just ridiculous. When CEOs make 400 times the average employee's salary and executives and upper management want far more than their counterparts made in the 1970s, adjusted for real inflation, then this destabilizes the whole economy and makes it so top heavy that it becomes unbalanced and fragile.
Since tens of trillions of dollars have been spent on banks and giant corporations since 2008, and they're the biggest reason for out unmanageable nation debt, then yes, the structure of corporations even becomes an issue of national security.

Not at all. It's a bit far to walk but uber/cab is cheap enough. The strip has a monorail that's decent for getting around the strip but it doesn't go outside the strip. Parking everywhere isn't free anymore so renting a car to go to Fremont Street for a few hours is ill advised. Visiting the dam is cool though, worth checking out. Bring a jacket, just in case. The windchill can be a shock. Keep in mind for your shows that Vegas has stuff open and going on pretty much 24/7, so even if you have a show you can still hit the casino floors, clubs, and restaurants anyway.

A marketing campaign is enough to solve that. Invite a bunch of influencers to a conspicuously white and asian filled cruise, with the new higher prices to keep blacks out, and then use their streaming footage clips in ads for six months. At the end of the ad include notes about dress code "for a classier cruise experience." Done.

That's the thing though, other stateless have that. You don't need to go to Vegas for the sports betting lounge/bar experience anymore, other places have the same thing, a bar where you can bet on sports, with tons of screens for different games and their scores showing, where you can play video poker at the bar too if you'd like.

In a normal and competitive Capitalist economy, for sure. But the question you should be asking here and now is how much shares of Hard Rock does Blackrock and Vanguard own? The problem with these massive asset managers like Blackrock is that buy up massive amount of shares in EVERY company and competitor that could cut into their business model, effectively turning every corporation and business owned by these asset managers into one giant Cartel that all operate off the same playbook and spread the profits out equally among all these companies controlled by this Asset Manager "Cartel". So if shares of Hard Rock are owned by Blackrock and Vanguard in an equal weighting as Caesars and MGM, then nothing unfortunately will change, and they will use the same "increase prices and cut quality for infinity" business model that the two other corporations that run Vegas are doing.

I am not a pro-China shill and their country looks to be going through some pain right now but honestly, purely for travel and touristic purposes, Chinese and Chinese-adjacent tourism is looking better and better with each passing month, seems to be the only major country remaining with a decent amount of development and amenities that for once is finally NOT entirely controlled by Blackrock. Thailand on the other hand is *literally* in the process of selling itself out to the OECD and WEF, and you are starting to notice all the same sort of Western-style financial and cultural bullshit shenanigans that we put up with in the West starting to take root over there. It's become truly awful, I was last there a year ago and will never go back. I am open to visiting China but am hesitant on getting initiated into their closed off ecosystem like using AliPay and WeBuo or whatever the fuck its called for everything (ultimately a good thing though because it filters out Blackrock Western influence and their army of normie fag consumer idiots),

Those are more fair to call gambling parlors or something. They're not the full integrated resort experience one would get in Vegas or Macau, though MGM is building one on Yumeshima right by Osaka now that casinos are legal there
