I don't know if this is the case for Goldblum but a lot of the time wealthy individuals will publicly announce they're not leaving anything for their kids (which is only technically true) while at the same time still having had set up massive trust funds for their children previously that'll keep paying out anyway. This way they give their kids the illusion of being self-starters while at the same time painting themselves as great humanitarians for instead giving their fortunes away (which is only half-true).

Companies are not real. The houses are still thetre and it doesnt matter who owns them. The supply is still there and it will exceed demand greatly.
Corporate landlords buy houses to rent them, this is a bad deal when theres no demand and increasing supply. Prices will drop more blackrock or not, and have dropped already.
