The stimulus checks were a one time thing, they only gave them out so people wouldnt complain about the corporate stimulus'. If everyone got 1k every month, utilities would eventually just raise prices and absorb it.

Yeah so I mean what is the counter argument to prices just increasing to match the new demand. I personally would take a free $1000 a month no problem but some people genuinely seem to believe in UBI so they can't be that stupid... Unless they are?

If you print money, then yes, there is inflation, but Andrew Yang never even suggested we print money.
I mean, there is no convincing the lot of you. The government could print billions to trillions for Boeing or anything big corp or entity, but even suggesting we cut beaucracy sends the bootlickers into an incoherent rage.

it might not be "inflation" if it's some kind of redistribution that's being imagined. But if consumers individually have their net currency available increased by X the price will just simply adjust by X no? Bailouts cause inflation because of a net addition to the currency supply but that addition does still make its way to consumers somehow. If it was just sitting in a vault somewhere there wouldn't be inflation. I personally would be quite happy to get wealth away from some of the bad people in this country I just don't see how one individual economic reform could do that.

This is one of those situations where the unga bunga retards that think the free money might be a secret hidden trick are half right.
If you pulled all the money that went into welfare and disability and gutted all of those agencies (give the people doling out welfare $1,000,000,000,000 and they'll make sure $500,000,000 goes to people in need), and redirected those funds into some much more streamlined - UBI - then you would have such an efficient net positive for everyone that the program would do wonders for the economy, like miracles. The current system is incredibly wasteful, but of course the welfare bureaucrats themselves are really just welfare recipients in their own special way.
But back to the first point, any practical implementation of UBI wouldn't be a whole radical reform of welfare (society isn't desperate enough for radical reform yet) but instead would just be another expense tacked on in a shitty way that just jacks up inflation and bureaucracy even more.
