I don't know about the Dalai Lama himself, but it's a real problem with Tibetan Buddhist lamas in general.

There were multiple scandals about that here in Taiwan -- lots of Tibetan Buddhists came here to flee Chinese persecution in the "Real China", and their leadership set up their little schools and stuff, and then got caught on several occasions fucking disciples and otherwise doing un-Buddhist things.
