They refuse to defund these courses because their professors form a powerful lobby with the university's board. Defunding specific courses doesn't work. Self-learners save time and money, avoiding debt entirely. The money and time for the same information is reallocated to accumulating assets earlier and self started projects.
There are more platforms now than before to foster leadership and public speaking, which don't require degrees at all.

just to be clear, its not that education is bad, its just that college is a very poor way to get educated and it has very real chance to infect your with wokie mind virus in your vulnerable years.
