European immigration to Brazil is a really interesting topic of study, especially once you compare the german immigration to the italian immigration.
Prussia, as in, the government, actually helped germans a lot once they came here, by gifting them materials to build houses and churches, because the brazilian government didn't give them shit, almost all european immigrants were essentially indentured as soon as they stepped out of the ships.
Meanwhile, Italy didn't help italians at all, italians had to work as indentured slaves to free themselves of the debt of the voyage they took from Italy to Brazil, something that would slow the rise of italians in Brazil.
The dynamics +100 years later is now that germans are generally found in the bureaucratic system of Brazil, while italians are generally found as businessmen or working in high rank jobs within industries.
