Honestly, I used to be a Christian, but the more I thought about this concept and how so many of my friends were good people but not Christian, the more I grew bitter. I genuinely hate the concept so much, it's so sick to me, I can't stand it.

as I've said, Catholicism has an explanation for it and it's probably more complicated than I presented it. Personally I'm not sure about how it works. If someone rejected a GOOD attempt at conversion, but were a good through and through person, it's hard to say what would happen.

honestly, Catholic doctrine these days might have weaker approach to it than I'm presenting. I think it says that kikes can be saved, even though obviously every kike have heard about our Lord Jesus Christ and they outrigh reject His message

well, read into it more. Or don't. It's not wishy washy. In my mind it makes sense. Eternal hell is reserved for special cases (and what hell is - no one is exactly certain). For others there's purgatory, where you learn why your ways were wrong.

I'm totally fine with purgatory and temporary purification. These things are fair. They are not infinite. I WISH mainstream christianity was like this because I love Christianity beyond that. I really do. I grew up with it. I just can't reconcile the two and it makes me incredibly sad.

If I recall correctly, in orthodox hell isn't forever, if that makes you happier. But in my opinion Catholic doctrine is way more refined. Orthodox church seems to be stuck in middle ages

Catholicism is mainstream. And I didn't come to those conclusions alone. I mean, I did independently, but I think Pope Francis talked about hell in some private talks. Although he talked with a jew and that jew then made that public, so take it how you want

Generally no one knows what hell is - that's the official doctrine. No one knows what heaven is either. And I think it's good this way.
