Jobs here that pay $8/hr require you to be bilingual. So if you aren't a spic there is no way you would ever even apply for that job. Not knowing spanish is going to be a huge disadvantage everywhere in the country in the coming years

Sorry about the French language, but I think German is more culturally useful. For example, those studying philosophy should know Ancient Greek, which is a dead language, and German, which is a living language. You can also communicate with other European countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and various minorities, such as Tyrol).

Cope. Chinese learn English. What good is Spanish when it isn't as good a language as English, French or German, hence Spanish speakers have to speak 50% faster than those 3 to convey the same amount of info. Plus Latin America speak an even poorer form of Spanish.
