The oil reserves in the United States are light sweet crude, which is good oil for gasoline and petrochemicals, but its not good for diesel.

Also Aluminum; Venezuela has fucktons of aluminum, which due to new manufacturing processes has become HIGHLY valued in industrial, automotive, and aerospace manufacturing. Aluminum was previously viewed as a shit metal, but it is used in almost everything now.

Venezuela also has pretty decent gold reserves.

It is RUMOURED that Venzuela potentially has a fuckton of rare earth minerals as well, the true extent is not publicly known
