Always was. The focus on oil is a meme. And it only exist because US citizens are retarded. Something like 80% of oil extracted is done by state run oil companies. Saudi, fins, Venezuela, china, etc. But you ask an American who the problem companies are it is Exxon, Shell, etc. You could possibly regulate US companies however you cannot go to other countries and demand they drill and use less because that is how that country makes money. Carbon footprint and related issues were memes created by these US oil companies to try to guilt the average goyim into feeling responsible to avoid regulating US oil companies. And only were started before a Democrat took office as they had the whole green party meme going at the time. It is all one giant psyop.

No, it was all PR but now it's become more inconvenient. Major corporations recognizing environmental issues like climate change served to shift conversations away from taxes and other policy, to issues they actually benefit from losing on as well as a way to convince the public that they self regulate just fine, so there's no need to get government involved.

I also am old enough to have seen the stock market crash in 1987, 2001, and 2008 as well as 2020.
One thing I can say with certainty is that the global economy really is rigged and every crash in history was deliberately inflated and then popped.

Know where the Kennedy fortune came from? Old Joe went short with impeccable timing and then bought up entire buildings in downtown Chicago for next to nothing.
All because he thought the market must be overvalued if shoeshine boys were offering him stock tips.

>Something like 80% of oil extracted is done by state run oil companies
I don't know if you remember Peak Oil Theory, which they tried to pull to justify rising oil prices (when it was actually the Enron Loophole to allow financial companies to roll over contracts) but then that was easily debunked because it's nearly everywhere.
Supposedly there's as much oil in Ecuador and in Pennsylvania as there is in Saudi Arabia. But our traitor governments enriched the Gulf Oil states because they buy weapons from them.

Not really. If you looked at the predictions you'll quickly find that it's not a "whoops we're all dead" but rather that it'll set us on a reversible path that will kill millions and reshape countries and most estimates predict it'll hit the global south the hardest.

Activists like Bill Gates have tried to make this into a collective struggle so people in the first world wouldn't just sit back which I don't think would be a lie as you'd have to face the massive immigrant waves and deal with flooding and other issues but to act like it's total death right away is pretty bad. I do think there's some scenarios like sea acidification that could be more blatant but most predictions I've seen aren't apocalypse worthy.

On the occasion of President Xi’s State Visit to Washington, D.C., the two Presidents reaffirm their shared conviction that climate change is one of the greatest threats facing humanity and that their two countries have a critical role to play in addressing it. The two Presidents also reaffirm their determination to move ahead decisively to implement domestic climate policies, to strengthen bilateral coordination and cooperation, and to promote sustainable development and the transition to green, low-carbon, and climate-resilient economies.

Fact is, it's the water.

8 billion people, half on the coasts, most with plumbing, plenty of it goes into the sea. The oceans have a layer of fresh water on top of the salt water, eroding IceCaps faster, causing unusual times and allowing for more extreme weather, making the sea levels seem higher in local areas, while not in others. Pulling groundwater out of the inland water cycle and treating it then shooting it out into the oceans where itll take longer to precipitate back over land causes inland droughts and waterway and coastal flooding.

>The Chapman cycle is a series of natural chemical reactions that create and destroy ozone in the stratosphere. It involves ultraviolet (UV) radiation splitting oxygen molecules (\(O_{2}\)) into two oxygen atoms (\(O\)), which then combine with other oxygen molecules to form ozone (\(O_{3}\)). Finally, ozone is broken down by either UV radiation or by reacting with an oxygen atom, which continuously maintains a dynamic equilibrium of ozone in the atmosphere

If you were a company that specialized in oil in any form of extraction, refining or selling refined product would you want to announce that you found large supplies? No you keep it quiet and larp as there being dwindling demand. The only reason you would want to announce finding huge fields is to crash prices and that is against the earnings must go up each year mindset. Larping as we are near peak oil is better for short term gains. Long term stability has been gone since the 80s in corporate America.
>>520193768
Some do but it is speculated to be nearby wells or earthquakes linking drilled well to new well and it refilling from that. Oil as a mechanism of the planet likely naturally refills faster than we pretend with muh fossil fuel. There is constant plant growth and death which seeps down and lubes its way deep enough to be pressurized to become oil. Probably most of it is done in ocean seabed. Then it just flows along the easiest path until it fills up a hole in crust and then earthquakes happen and oil shifts around to new cracks and this repeats until the planet is destroyed.

California soil is desert soil and full of salt that needs to be flushed so when all the industrialists showed up with their machinery they devastated the ecology, they quickly learned that they needed 4+ foot hooks to reach down into the sold to break up all the salt in it that was accumulating with regular farming methods. You could probably write multiple phd's on how actually fucked california is policy wise, ecologically, demographically. It's all connected. They switched to more a cash crop form of slavery because of the soil which is why they imported all the useless spics because it was less work than planting wheat and digging up all the salt and flushing it out. That's why they're running out of water because the farms have to run water through the soil near constantly. Ah yes, the semantic complaints of someone backed into a corner that now understands the argument, but is bickering about the specifics out of desperation. I'm not "telling" you anything, those are your inferences and excuses. I presented two propositions, one you've ignored, and the other you've reduced intentionally to "Al Gore" instead of "multinationalists".

If something is burning fuel, in the air, logically speaking this is two things that contribute to climate change in your schema: the fuel being burnt, and the proximity of delivery. Every plane in the world doing it simultaneously contributes to climate change, in your schema. A 747 holds 48,000 to 63,000 liters of fuel, and an average of 105,000 commercial flights per day. Assuming one fill (read: some flights use more, some use less, this is a conservative estimate) thats between 4.5 million liters of fuel and 6.6 million liters. But this isnt regular fuel, it's goddamned plane fuel, and regardless of semantics about the relative number of cars, that's 6-7 million barrels deposited in closer proximity to the atmosphere by orders of magnitude using publically available estimates (canadian energy center). Therefore, not addressing this is contrary to your states goals, and unreasonable as a logcial proposition, regardless of the specifics of my math or my source. Bickering about which does what is irrelevant when it ISNT ADDRESSED AND IS EXACERBATED BY THE PEOPLE PRESENTING THE ISSUE.

In addition, you did not address the industrial process pollution at all. Or mention it. And this is why you're a shill.

The limit was what's reasonable to assume from a logical perspective, which is an incredibly low bar. I demonstrated the proof to a minimal extent that someone arguing in good faith would know it's an issue. You are bickering semantically about "by far", addressing neither. I'm not. That's an intentional semoitic distortion as an appeal to authority about the relative limits of my argument, implying it was irrational and you are rational by contrast.

Planes contribute to climate change in your schema. Industrialized production contributes as well. Ignoring both is irrational, discrediting your argument directly, because you are aware there is no mitigation. Your only "out" is semantics about the definition of "by far" and the relevance. But a reasonable introlocutor in good faith would have assumed the premise as reasonable from a logical proposition, and said something like "sure it's an issue but not the main one". However, you are using OPSEC to push a narrative. You cannot cede that point becauase it goes contrary to your objective. Nope. I was bitching about the structure of your argument. Anyways, I proved "by far" immediately because the industrial output of any one organization exceeds any individual's output, and the combined output exceeds any individual's output by so many orders of magnitude any consumer based mitigation has either misdiagnosed the problem (is wrong), or is insufficient in addressing it (is also wrong).

And the chain of custody comes from the producer of the output first, offloading it on the end point doesnt address the issue.

Anyways, I'll skip to the end.

If there are known factors that arent mitigated and the solutions dont solve the problem, then the issue is not legitimate, because the people proposing it are being illogical to begin with. Therefore the problem AND the solutions were always bullshit, as was everything justifying them, because if they werent, real actionable steps would have been taken to address the structure responsible for the issue, not punish the last layer who recieves it. The problem of climate change isnt the climate, it's that people need an existential threat. The solution isnt that climate change needs to be solved, it's that it cant be solved intentionally, and can be used indefinitely to justify policy decisions.

All of "that" was to show you your belief is nonsense. I could have done the same thing looking at the methodology for any study, but I'm playing to the crowd, not talking to you, which is dickish. My apologies.

You seem to acknowledge profit motive in mitigating addressing the issue meaningfully when we can clearly see that just recognizing the issue comes with with layers of paid obfuscation and distraction from ever forming anything that resembles an actionable consensus. Recognizing the issue isn't profitable in the short term. That should factor more heavily into this game theory you're doing.

That doesn't logically follow. What if the problem is legitimate and the ruling class is structurally incapable of doing what needs to be done to actually solve the crisis so they simply unload as much of the responsibility as possible onto the lower classes? Intractable problems are a hallmark of societies that are about to collapse. In fact just before the French revolution a major ecological collapse demolished harvests and it led to conspiracy theories about how harvest was actually fine and foreigners were just hoarding grain

I skip capital entirely because an existential threat is beyond capital by its nature, and it opens up a big can of worms. Addressing one isnt a matter of cost, but necessity; this is the internalized logic of the problem. The reason they dont implment it IS the capital; it's not worth the trade because it's not real. I leave that implied in the structure.

>>520202787
Then nothing can be done at all and I have no interest in pretending to solve it. We lack the structure, so feeling bad about it doesnt matter. We simply need to accept the outcome and knowing about it is irrelevant from a functional perspective, particularly as an existential threat, so we might as well claw back things we enjoy by refuting the possibility of action entirely. But I didnt say that because it's bleak, and I dont personally agree. The problem is still illegitimate in the framing. A legitimate unsolvable problem isnt a problem, it's an inevitability, and there is no solution, only mitigation.

This is half baked. You're ruling out capital while you can see capital has not ruled it out; insurance companies are more and more restructuring and leaving costal areas and corporate interference pushes greatly against climate science. It figures that the industrial side would push solutions to the consumer side and turn cow emissions into a false target wedge issue.

The idea that climate change not being a giant meteor on a clear collision course with Earth that, if unaddressed, would do more than ruin oceanfront property, must be fake if it isn't addressed as such ignores what climate change is and can be. Making your metric of concern "the billionaires building luxury bunkers and restructuring the areas they provide insurance coverage to aren't meaningfully interested in solving this problem right now" doesn't make sense.

You missed the nuance completely and are arguing your opinion. I dont care to discuss capital because it's not relevant to my argument, and can be levered in the way you suggested to legitimize "climate science". I dont care what it can be, that's the argument presented, I care what it is: nothing backed by flawed methodology and hyperbole.

You're confusing correlation with causation, and the link is tenuous. Costal areas are always higher risk. Floods make insurance in costal areas cost more due to the proximity to water. Climate change may or may not cause floods, that's irrelevant, but it is a great way to justify higher premiums. And once climate change is presented, the outcome is irrelevant because it justifies any natural disaster by design, and the metrics become a tautology; the cost increases justify "climate science" because if it wasnt real, why did number go up?

The bunkers have nothing to do with climate change, that's a gnostic assumption. They have to do with geopolitical instability and existential ennui as much as anything.
