I live in a deep red area, voted for Trump 3 times, and work in a data center. I was at my local pub last night. The look on everyone’s face was despair and hunger. Most of them already lost their jobs due to AI and the Trump recession. I bought a round of drinks and one of the older guys said, “things were so much better when Biden was president. I haven’t eaten in days and really need those food stamps.”

When I left, I noticed a bumper sticker on one of the lifted trucks saying “Should’ve voted for Harris. Honk if you agree!” I honked as I drove away.

maybe a tiered minimum wage? the more profitable the business the higher their minimum wage.

the small business owner that can't afford to pay $25 and hour doesn't have to, though if he doesn't he will get less qualified people. this is also a place for employees that nobody wants to pay $25 an hour for, like someone with no experience or tattoos on their face. so at least they have somewhere to work. and the largest billion dollar profit corps could maybe pay $30 an hour i dunno i'm not an economist.

the risks are obviously some jobs leaving to go elsewhere for cheaper wages, already a problem, could get worse. and of course inflation, if everyone is making more money, everything will get more expensive. especially because by raising the minimum all the other wages will rise too so they can offer enough advantage to lure people away from decent minimum wage jobs.

yes some people mismanage their money but even if you don't even basic needs are very expensive especially rent these days, relative to wages.

unfortunately raising wages also raises costs. if everyone has more money then everything ends up costing more money, unless productivity also increases by the same amount. too much money chasing too few goods. inflation. basic economics that lefties dont grasp

does it need to cost this much or is the pricing a scam? i don't know, but its a valid question. a rolex watch doesn't cost $10,000 to make, its a mass produced watch, but the market will pay $10,000. the difference is the missiles are coming out of your tax dollars.
