Also we used to have three S's, three GLYPHS for the character or letter S:

S, ſ, s

The middle glyph is called "long s". Our lower case "s" was used only at the end of words originally.

The same thing is going on with the letter Sigma in Greek.

Σ, σ, ς

Arabic does this to the extreme, most of the letters in the Arabic alphabet have 4 glyphs; isolated, initial, medial and final.

By demonizing random shit you can create an in-group of followers who can be manipulated by fear of the other

All German texts before the early 20th century were written in the Fraktur font, so if you're going to study German with old books from Internet Archive and such, you're going to have to learn to read it. You can practice reading the Fraktur font, and simultaneously learn German, with these:

The Nazis were vindicated by their fear of jewish control.

probably practical reasons as many letters so close to each other and printing could make it fussy

Dankeschoen.
These are older and look better than my current collection of German learning books.

You're missing the point.

Authoritarian regimes ban things that are legit threats but they also ban things that are benign as a loyalty test.

what do you mean learn to read it? only a couple letters are unconventional. is this a side effect of zoomies not learning how to write cursive or something?

Egregores behind symbols are more powerful than the conscious will of most, that's why one of the 10 Commandments is to avoid idols. Sigil Magick never left, it's just become Occult Memetics.

I really like this modern book. It's probably not for absolute beginners, but perhaps for advanced beginners.

The Elfdalian region in Sweden used runes into the 20th century apparently.

A few thousand people still speak this archaic dialect, basically a pocket of Old Norse or something, haven't studied it much.

I read it was because they thought German would become the lingua franca and that the font would be hard for people in other countries to read. I have to go now, ask chatgpt.

I've had enough synchronicity behind Runes to know there is a higher intelligence guiding them, though I'm the first to admit modern larpagans who say things like "Better a Wolf of Odin than a Lamb of God" are peak cringe.
