About 15 years ago I pitched a new type of cell phone that's basically a screen seperated from a small box. All the screen was is audio/video/touchscreen wireless (and encrypted) to the actual smart phone/comp hardware. This would have allowed interfacing with basically any screen from your smartphone transceiver. Also, the small device itself was trivially upgradeable and repairable. So you could upgrade components like a PC instead of buying a new phone entirely. Accidently fuck up your screen? Just buy another cheap.

I couldn't get any funding because they don't want people to do any of this. And this was just the atom on the tip of the iceberg I had planned.

Honestly...that's a stupid take. You can already see now that people are getting tired of AI video's because once the novelty has worn off, it becomes annoying to know that what you just watched, isn't real. That home video of cats going nuts and waking up mom in the middle of the night that you found funny? You find out it's AI. Response? Annoyance. Things like that have more of an impact if it's real. If it's not, you're essentially watching some scripted short, and generally people dislike shorts that try to give off the impression that they're real, when they're actually fake. You see it in the comments section a lot actually.

The future of phones is what it will be currently: web browsing, normies using chatGTP for everything, and lonely people fulfilling their fantasies. You need the internet, but not the world wide web: the WWW is like a bunch of fractured databases (websites) of your interests i.e. movies, music, porn, videogames, etc. You don't need any websites for those, you just need a giant server to dump all the data & information on for AI to scrape. We'll essentially see a revolution in storage, where you can store the entire contents of the internet as a single file that a machine could easily read back to you, or construct any idea of what media you'd like based off the entire contents of the internet. All information/data uploaded to the "internet" will actually just be going into a single "source". Videos won't be uploaded to YouTube, they'll be uploaded to the "source" and AI will extract them from you. Music will be uploaded to the source; there are no streaming sites, AI will literally curate lists for you based off of the entire internet's playlist or make up songs as it goes. There will be no online communities or forums like this: people will essentially post to the aether and AI will curate/host "rooms" long enough for people with similar thoughts & interests to coalesce; your messages may stay behind forensically, but they aren't tethered messageboards or websites. All of the internet's data will be thrown together into a big lump and AI will sift & sort through it much like a search engine does for you with websites. AI will be a data crawler & curator essentially. They will find a reason/incentive to compile all data on the web into a single source, thus dissolving all the tendrils of the "web" so that it no longer has branches & roots you trace out yourself, but becomes one big stew pot.
